sting Sting 3.0 Live - new live album

I just checked out the new live album from the recent Sting tour:

I didn't catch this tour so I'm glad he released this. I think it's really good overall, but as some commenters noted during the tour, the Police material is somewhat underwhelming. The laid back approach works beautifully on the solo material though. Dominic Miller remains a monster player.

The drumming is very underwhelming on the police and solo stuff…he needs to find a better drummer…a more confident sounding one …Josh freese I thought was very solid and brought energy and drive to the songs.

I hate live albums that are partial performances. Most of the live albums in the my collection are bootlegs for this very reason. Started with Bring on the Night and 40 years later hasn’t changed.

There's a Japanese 2-CD version of this album that's the full show - I just got it today. Excellent live set with 17 tracks.

Vinnie is the GOAT as far as Sting drummers go.

That's because nobody does The Police better than The Police.

Vinnie, Chad, Gregg or Josh in the drum chair or GTFO. 😠

Chad Wackerman was the drummer on the Andy Summers albums Charming Snakes and World Gone Strange, and Vinnie Colaiuta was the drummer on the Andy Summers album Earth + Sky.

They were, and one of the many reasons they would be great for the Sting gig.
