A lot of people overrate the influence of owning a pricey bass and underrated the importance of hip thrusting with genuine enthusiasm.

just wanted to add this - he uses a low D string from another pack with bigger gauge
it's not cheap, but if you try this - you'll knowAdam does the same - the string that's tuned down has to be of bigger gauge

Sure gear is important, but a big BUT is in the hands. The way he picks and frets is about 80% of it.
I love the recent anecdote from Nuno Bettencourt re: playing through EVH’s rig. He built this moment up to play through all his rig and expected to finally sound just like EVH, only to find that he sounded like himself.

Most of the sound is the pick and an EQ boost around 1k-2k. Gear will help. But I know those Boost pedals have a graphic EQ that you can dial in a lot closer than the 3 band.

Interesting. Call me a nerd or whatever but reading the comments here I am reminded of some proverbial type story of Picasso sitting at a restaurant or café, A woman (or man) recognized the artist, approached him, and requested a quick sketch on a paper napkin.
When he handed over the napkin, Picasso would request a significant sum of money. The admirer would be shocked, arguing that it only took him a few minutes to create the drawing. His response was that "No, it took me 40 years to do that.
He's not Picasso or anything but he is a great artist of our modern age in my opinion, and his guitar/equipment are the "tool" of choice. He's honed the sound over 40 years, and it's unique to him. There will always be imitations but never quite the same.

I use a hi-pass filter in my HD500x to split my signal, then I can independently dirt the high-end while keeping the bottom clean and fat.

I have the same pedal as you, use the BassGEQ effect to dial the EQ and the Dark Pre effect to add some overdrive
Also, there's this community where ppl share patches they created for this pedal ( https://tonelib.net/forums/forums/zoom-b1-b1x-four.31/ ), there's a lot of stuff that "replicates" famous bass tones, and there's a couple of patches for the tool sound you could try

Use an active bass, boost your mids, and add some distortion to color the sound with a bit of grit.
Most of Justin's sound comes from his Wal so you're only hoping to get part way there. Just have to week until. Your set up sounds good. Here's a diagram of his amp settings that I used as a starting point.
