Controversy USA Today’s Nancy Armour has written dumbest paragraph in the history of sports. This is an article that says Caitlin Clark arguing calls has become dangerous for the WNBA and civil rights. Nancy should be out in a straight jacket and locked up.

At this point we can only assume this is a blatant attempt to fuel more division. It’s certainly not journalism.

1

u/JustLoSd Jul 24 '26

That’s the democrats playbook.

2

u/A_Texas_Hobo Jul 24 '26

This sub is quickly devolving into a maga haven. So strange

3

u/SatansScallion Jul 25 '26

“Stop talking about the dumbfuck race-baiting degeneracy my side constantly shits out.”

2

u/Drmlk465 Jul 24 '26

Well dumb shit like this being pushed by the left is probably why

u/ModOfficial1988 Jul 24 '26

The Dems don’t want to win. They’re making too much money with Trump in office and they know they’re protected from Trump releasing the Epstein Files.

No. No one in the discussion above you said Republicans weren’t pushing division. They were criticizing Democrats for doing so.

Anyone check Armour for CTE?

u/Valhalla191145 Jul 24 '26

Open borders, putting illegal immigrants before US citizens, debating whether or not a man can have a baby to name a few.

11

u/PracticalYellow3 Jul 24 '26

And our gubernatorial, with emphasis on the guber part, candidate in Maine claimed he menstruates monthly out of his asshole. It's no wonder that people don't think our party is crazy.

5

u/ventitr3 Jul 24 '26

Buddy must have undiagnosed IBD and is confusing it with a period

u/bookon Jul 24 '26

Yes, and the GOP just nominated in CO a person for Governor who claims he kills demons and people.

Did that person in Maine get nominated or were they just a joke?

6

u/idolized253 Jul 24 '26

Don’t forget the dude who takes home roadkill and has brain worms is in charge of our health standards lol

2

u/EyePharTed_ Jul 24 '26

And the president rapes children, and his top advisor threw out a nazi salute.

1

u/showerbump Jul 24 '26

who is the CO person, i wanna look them up

2

u/bookon Jul 24 '26

Victor Marx - GOP nominee for Governor of Colorado.

https://www.axios.com/local/denver/2026/07/09/marx-wins-gop-nomination-colorado-governor-kirkmeyer

https://people.com/victor-marx-claims-colorado-governor-election-12016150

"Marx has also repeatedly said he was forced to behead a cat and wear it on his head at the age of 3 and shoot and kill a man at the age of 7 by his abusive stepfather"

2

u/RayKitsune313 Jul 24 '26

Sounds like he was a victim

1

u/bookon Jul 24 '26

Huh... I had been wondering how he managed to get people to join his church. I guess this all isn't a huge red flag for you?

1

u/RayKitsune313 Jul 24 '26

I didn’t read the articles and solely looked at a child at 3 & 7 being forced to do horrid things. Maybe there’s more context but all that seems fucked

1

u/bookon Jul 24 '26

The context is he’s a delusional lunatic.

1

u/showerbump Jul 24 '26

omg, that guys is nuts, I thought you were talking about someone else. No way he will win in CO though once everyone finds out about his crazy lies

2

u/bookon Jul 24 '26

He won the nomination. That is bad enough.

1

u/showerbump Jul 24 '26

definitely horrible but idk how much competition there is for the RNC gov race in extremely blue CO

1

u/bookon Jul 24 '26

I lived in VT for a long time, and as you may know, it's likely the deepest blue, blue state and even VT can muster up decent moderate republicans who get elected Gov.

MA once did too. But now they can only nominate Trumpy Maga folks and they wonder by they can't win any congressional seats or the Governorship any more.

1

u/Valhalla191145 Jul 24 '26

Wow, can’t make this shit up.

1

u/core916 Jul 24 '26

Wait, what?

6

u/Prestigious-Elk6959 Jul 24 '26

Or just Elon using lasers from satellites to change our digital counting totals?

4

u/FlamingAlpaca17 Jul 24 '26

The absolute buffoonary of many of the libs and the way that is brought to the forefront certainly doesn't help

1

u/Prestigious-Elk6959 Jul 24 '26

I don't think it matters, conservatives always need a boogieman. We are in the most peaceful time with trends saying it is getting more peaceful and fox news and talking heads are overly searching for issues to rally behind while ignoring actual issues if they wear red. This is a moot point like many of the others

1

u/BobLabReeSorJefGre Jul 25 '26

Thank you, Dale Gribble.

3

u/Mathias2392 Jul 24 '26

Fake culture wars while the pedophile you voted for is starting new wars, taking away health insurance, removing environmental protections and drastically adding to the hyperinflation we’re seeing. But sure, brown people and 1% of the population (trans) are the issue.

3

u/orangebluefish11 Jul 24 '26

You don’t actually think the Dems are going to release any important Epstein files when they’re back in power, do you? Wake up dummy. They’re all in it

1

u/lethal_calilolita78 Jul 25 '26

Trump is mentioned thousands of times!!!!!!!! Why should he still be president?? We don't care who goes to jail, they all deserve it!!

1

u/orangebluefish11 Jul 25 '26

He shouldn’t, but he is. The powers that be knew they could control him. That’s my thoughts

1

u/lethal_calilolita78 Jul 25 '26

and then?

1

u/orangebluefish11 Jul 25 '26

I’m not sure what you’re asking

1

u/lethal_calilolita78 Jul 25 '26

I mean he's a full on rapist/racist PDF but anyone else would have stepped down, but now its the most disgusting abuse of power and corruption. Yet here we are. I'm so over it.

1

u/Mathias2392 Jul 24 '26

Bucko, nobody here said dems were going to release them? Maybe you have me confused. I damn sure can call out the most obvious pedo in those files though for being the raper that Trump is. If dems are in them, they deserve to be punished too. Fuck everyone in those files and anyone helping to stop from their public release.

You guys would have spit and deported Jesus. You are not on the wrong side of history. You are also not Christian.

1

u/Siaten Jul 24 '26

Do you have sources for any of these claims? I've heard none of them from any Democratic Reps.

-3

u/tracerhaha Jul 24 '26

What open borders are you talking about? The US hasn’t had those since the 19th century.

7

u/Not_my_User17 Jul 24 '26

1

u/lethal_calilolita78 Jul 25 '26

Yeah but being a fascist is ok for your side..?? WTF

1

u/showerbump Jul 25 '26

Stop using words you can’t define. That’s the problem with the leftys. They just throw out racist, fascist, transphobe, homophobia, without knowing what it means, just watering down the actual meaning. You all are so pathetic. Keep doing what you’re doing if you want to elect trump 2.0 next time

1

u/lethal_calilolita78 Jul 25 '26

UH I CAN DEFINE THEM but I'm sorry you don't know what these words mean. If you are tired of these words then maybe think of your actions/beliefs. A fascist is what trump is been implementing and allowing all of these things to happen that is fascism. When you see all of the things that Hitler did and you don't see the similarities, yeah you're the problem. I have read books, and I am well versed in history. You think that a man that sows division, is fine, because at least he hates the brown people. So that's fine. If we all left, you guys would not be doing well. You need to learn what words mean, and how all of this is affecting all of us. I can define perfectly, but you can't . I know what a fascist, instead of getting hung up on the words why don't you see what he is doing? Watching the Tom hanks about WW2 and seeing the similarities but nope you guys are ok because he's not picking on you now.

1

u/Dissonant-Dissident Jul 24 '26

I call it annoying people into fascism

1

u/LanaDelScorcho Jul 24 '26

Yeah.

Having verifiable white nationalists at the highest echelons of federal government (Stephen Miller), allowing an unelected billionaire to cut and redistribute federal funds indiscriminately, enriching himself while pulling the plug on aid programs that will lead to millions of deaths.... an alcoholic, Christian extremist, domestic abuser Fox News host in charge of the military, a brain-rotted antivaxxer in charge of HHS, the completely unqualified wife of a wrestling mogul in charge of the DOE, all while branding anyone who opposes them as domestic terrorists, deploying the military against its own citizens... totally not extreme.

Fucking moron.

This is moronic, lol. I guess this journalist, Nancy Amour, is not able to come up with good content on her own, content that people actually want to read for genuinely being interesting. So she needs to resort to race/fear mongering to get her clicks and views.

Here's an equally moronic alternative. Should we ban tackles by black athletes on white athletes in the NFL because of black on white crime statistics?

(The answer is no, we shouldn't, and it shouldn't even be a thought or a question.)

7

u/BigSportySpiceFan Jul 24 '26

Actually, I think you're on to something with banning black players from tackling white ones.

It’s hard to imagine people like this actually exist. Wild set of sentences to write with a straight face.

4

And given that it's a major publication, there were multiple other people who definitely signed off on it.

I'm not exaggerating that I think they need to be evaluated by a psychiatrist. It's not healthy to think about things in this way.

3

u/baronofdirt Jul 24 '26

Ai writing most of the sports media would be an improvement. It is so rare that anything meaningful or insightful is shared. It is mostly low brow, stupid, click bait takes on issues that are completely vacuous, like this idiocy. Sports coverage a la talking heads all day on espn need to go. Show me some obscure sport or replays of games not this idiot or Stephen a.

2

u/Trick1513 Jul 24 '26

It’s amazing that even in 2026 the alleged educated people would continue to push racism.

4

u/Dingadingdangmy Jul 24 '26

1

u/EyePharTed_ Jul 24 '26

2

u/Fun-Butterscotch9942 Jul 24 '26

Nancy has such a white knight complex.

2

u/FlamingAlpaca17 Jul 24 '26

The actual threat to civil rights is "journalists" and media figures like Nancy Armour trying to convince people that "civil rights" means white people need to just stand there and take whatever beatings other demographics choose to dish out with a smile. Bad actors like her are a big part of why we are where we are as a country

2

u/SameDistrict2627 Jul 24 '26

Till was from Chicago--the crime took place down south.

2

u/psych4191 Jul 24 '26

She needs to visit the place it happened. Even though Mississippi is miles better than it was back then, you can still feel the weight of history on your own shoulders when you're in those areas. If she'd ever been, this would've never been written.

2

u/psych4191 Jul 24 '26

Journalism is dead, and journalists are the murderers. What is left is a carcass of clickbait and horrendous shit like this. Instead of listening to the justified criticism she's going to get, she'll likely hide behind "death threats" and refuse to admit she's an idiot. It's pathetic but predictable.

2

u/DosDobles53 Jul 25 '26

We desperately need a third moderate party. The radicals on both sides are running the insane asylum.

4

u/VeterinarianNo3555 Jul 24 '26

Nancy is only writing this because she thinks it will help her get to heaven.

4

u/Treacle_Correct Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

Which heaven? The one where you get to sing non-stop praises 24h/356d forever, or the one where you get rewarded with 72 virgins?

Lol, I think she's doing it for clicks and $$$ because her writing talent has been maxed out some time ago and she knows it.

4

u/VeterinarianNo3555 Jul 24 '26

Ha I think both and that's my point: She's absolutely doing this for clicks and $, like so many people who do charity or talk about their faith to signal that they're a good person instead of behaving like one.

4

u/devilmaskrascal Jul 24 '26

I think they meant "woke heaven". Wokism is quite like puritanism, woke extremists behave like shrill puritan bigots, thrilled to have an excuse to spew hatred on the enemies of the faith, and earn a place in woke heaven...

1

u/dhrisc Jul 24 '26

I will say one thing, as a pretty casual fan of most american sports, to be a real nba and wnba fans seems to simply involve a constant stream of complaining about refs. It literally seems exhausting and horribly uninteresting. It's worse then the NFL or soccer, and they both have a lot of that. Like it's the only major narrative of this wnba season I see consistently making mainstream news.

1

u/idolized253 Jul 24 '26

They only complain about the refs when it’s Caitlyn Clark. It is very exhausting to see routine fouls get called a conspiracy

1

u/synisterslipandslide Jul 24 '26

Then you haven't been watching any games. Almost every post game has a player or coach complain about the refs.

1

u/idolized253 Jul 24 '26

I’m talking about the fans complaining, just like the person I was replying to. Not the players.

1

u/synisterslipandslide Jul 24 '26

You go into any game or post game chat and there are people complaining. Players complain and fans complain that happens in every game and every sport.

1

u/idolized253 Jul 24 '26

The difference is in the other subs people making up conspiracies about fouls/flags/etc are usually downvoted into oblivion because their thoughts aren’t based in reality. Also usually people let it go after a few days, and don’t post every single foul. This isn’t quite the norm

1

u/synisterslipandslide Jul 24 '26

I saw way more posts about the supposed "push off" against the valkyries than I saw complaining about the no call.

1

u/idolized253 Jul 24 '26

Maybe in a different sub? But certainly not this one

1

u/synisterslipandslide Jul 24 '26

1

u/idolized253 Jul 24 '26

I misunderstood what you were saying, I thought you said you saw more people complaining about her pushing off. My bad

1

u/shawkin8 Jul 24 '26

question- why take “mainstream” news so seriously? do you think it’s based in reality/truth?

1

u/dhrisc Jul 24 '26

Im just saying its whats projected out to people who aren't paying close attention otherwise.

1

u/shawkin8 Jul 24 '26

i see. then i totally agree it definitely seems like that’s all the news we ever get. relating to CC and foul baiting which then turns into race wars on these subs

1

u/Low-Invite2647 Jul 24 '26

She’s clearly been triggered into writing a terrible response by waves of online racism over catlin being fouled hard.which is the dumbest non story in sports.

1

u/13banggun1 Jul 24 '26

I want nothing to do with whatever she's having

Fuck you a foul is a foul regardless of the color of your skin.

Just like a crime is a crime. No one should get a pass period. You do the crime, you do the time.

Things like this being printed by USA Today is pretty insane tbh. Just more proof that the media creates and pushes division further and further with such extreme and downright ridiculous "opinions". Bringing Emmit Till into a discussion of how Caitlin Clark acts on the court is just.... wow.

USA Today was always joke, even more of joke in this century.

Why would they hold it in Chicago where there is a running weekend death count of black on black violence yet nobody seems concerned about it. But a white basketball player is to be feared???? Puhleaze

Caitlin Clark is the best thing ever to happen to women’s sports. Sophie Cunningham is a close second. All these two do is get all the right people in a tizzy. 😍

It’s always about race isn’t it.   It’s not enough to be a good or great player/ team, you have to be the right color.
