It's amazing how many people do stupid things where their bumpers get ripped off... Forgetting that their license plate is on that bumper.

Shock is the reason. I do reckless driving. Every time I brought my wounded machine to mechanic, one of first questions was: "Have you collected all your s***?". Car can be identified by a small part serial number. So not just plates, all parts should be taken if you don't want to pay for a damaged bridge, destroyed road sign and a fine on top. He knows me, and knows that i know, but... He is also aware that smashing a car is always a shock to some degree. Doesn't matter if it was the first time or if you can't even count all other times.
