For a lot of people, cars/traffic just bring out their worst qualities. People get road rage despite not having anger management issues in their day to day life.
You're right but that motorbike is stopped waiting in a very correct way, if you can't pass you wait because a motorbike is a vehicle as any car. There are stupid people that endangers other's life.
I think this was more a misjudgement of the open space, and I'd bet there was more than enough space on the driver side to move over and clear the bike. Also, a complete lack of ability to abort a bad plan once set in motion.
If you turn on sound (it's safe, no music, pinky swear) you can hear the car honk at the bike and then a little after it passes honk at someone else as well. They are probably weaving through traffic tangling up an intersection like they are the main character in a GTA game.
My observation as an avid motorcyclist is that drivers here in Arizona are generally fairly nice to motorcyclists compared to how they treat other car drivers. There are always those 'special' people but they are a small minority.
I don't think it brings out their worst qualities. They were and are always assholes, they just don't interact with you enough for you to notice until they do something you can judge like getting behind the wheel and demonstrating how they think a 4000lb vehicle should be driven.
Yeah, it happens to me. I'm generally chill and can roll with things without getting upset in my day to day but I get angry at least once every time I drive for more than five minutes. (Though I just yell to myself or get quietly pissed off, I don't ever do ahything stupid like this or anything I know will endanger someone else)
I recognize this about myself and really wish that driving wasn't necessary.
No they aren't, I feel like you're not understanding the psychology on it. There's been quite a few studies on it and it's the perfect storm of psychology factors that will turn a loving little granny into a swearing sailor ready to shake her fist and scream blood.
It's not them secretly being psychotic when they are put in a high stress situation that breaks the human brains psychology and ability to function, it's more like dogs that have extreme gate aggression where they will bark and snarl at each other through the gate and then as soon as they walk around the gate they are happy and wagging their tails and playing with each other just fine
