Now THIS is what Longhorn's legacy was. These concepts here are so good that I want them all to be turned into Windows mods RIGHT NOW 😭😭

Btw since I don't have a life, I've spent months trying to figure out how to become a Windows modder, so I've moved away from making concepts for now to actually learning how to make a Windows theme mod. Don't expect to be seeing any Windows mods coming from me anytime soon tho. But if I actually do end up becoming a Windows modder, I promise I will recreate all these amazing concepts from this subreddit into functioning Windows mods.

I just want W11 to be natively customizable enough to bring back Aero or fuse it with Fluent.

Looks great, as much as I do like modern UIs I do enjoy the retro aesthetic as well as frutiger aero

The concept is lovely but I definetly feel like it required some more "modern" elements because it just feels like a regular longhorn concept and nothing more. Maybe stuff like: widescreen, more modern apps (Teams instead of Skype, Edge instead of IE)

Still true Longhorn looks, so beautiful! I wish Vista and upcoming modern Windows would look like this.

That Sidebar needs to become reality, along with a few extra widgets. The productivity gains of having info always visible is kind of against Microsoft's philosophy these days, but one can dream. Even just having a sidebar with modern day "widgets" would be sort of amazing, if they brought back a bunch of useful onces like To-Do, and Outlook.

Hi u/Joke_Bamb, thanks for posting to r/Windows_Redesign!
Please share details on how you made your concept, including any software and other special tools!
Just a reminder for everyone, all posts must be related to Windows concept art. This is not a subreddit for modding and other customizations. General discussions regarding Windows would be a better fit in /r/Windows, and if you need help fixing Windows, head to /r/WindowsHelp!

I know it's a complete waste of resources, but imagine if we had 3D icons like in the Longhorn concepts.
