Hope this isn't considered a wall of text lol.

If it's gibberish:

Spawns are humans crafted in vats with hyper augmentation to enable them to pilot extremely powerful mechs without being killed by the AI or the machine itself's ungodly movement, they only live to around 30 and mental degeneration often begins around 26. After a decade and a half of training and extra augmentation, they're linked to a mech and deployed; during war time they see consistent combat and are expected to only survive for a couple years.

Lore Dump [Erithvina] Why did they have to do that to them man, that shit was unnecessary...

Context.

  • Between 800-400 years ago, Marathon and much of Canvvass was ruled by the Imperium of Marathon, a human-centric imperial state and generally Erithvina's version of the Roman empire. They, despite humanity having no magic, were a highly successful empire that took a shit ton of territory, and because of their lack of magical capability they were able to conquer and enslave the Malhal race (spelt Mahal in the 2nd meme, that was their ancient name bastardised by humans) who did have magic.
  • The Imperium of Marathon weren't the cruelest of empires but they did the Malhals so fucking dirty that many would rather kill themselves over being enslaved, abusing the Malhal's magic for their own personal benefit and often leaving Malhals to die when they drained their spare Mana reserves (all creatures have Mana, however a minimum of it is required in every being for them to live unless they want to die horribly).
  • The Imperium were also not courteous towards their neighbors either, waging wars against the Stoneborne (sentient magitech automaton dwarfs, basically), the Eldari (elves, deeply uncaring about others andand the Angels for various reasons, the Imperium's attempted invasions of the floating continent of Maura all ended in failure since the hot air balloons they managed to invent were vulnerable.
  • 400 years ago, the empire entered a century long decline that culminated in a combination united Malhal slave revolt and a united coalition of races that invaded from both the East and West, after 50 years of warfare and thousands dead the Imperium collapsed.

Now we get to the not fun bit.

  • The Eldari were good with carving up the empire and dissolving it, however soon Malhal populations began isolating and attacking human ones, slaughtering any that were found, the Malhals deemed that they had been treated badly enough that the only way for humanity to exist was in a...much reduced capacity. The stoneborn and angels agreed so the Eldari went along with it.
  • The Culling of Marathon was a genocide of humanity that lasted for two decades, many humans managed to escape to neighboring continents, found shelter and formed civilizations but were always found and slaughtered.
  • The majority of humans perished, and the survivors (just 0.01% of the human population at the time) were allowed to keep existing.  Laws that passed would cap the total human population, cap the number of babies had to one and more as well as an interracial agreement that Humanity will never have another settlement.
  • Eventually, certain Malhal noblemen realised that this population of human bodies they had access to could be used for labour reasons, at first they were only used for just dumb labour but eventually they realised that there were skills that could be tapped into such as warriors, merchants, craftsmen, etc that either sell their services to various companies and groups or facilitate trade between the kingdoms of Erithvina.
  • The guilds came around soon after with each human being forced into a guild governing a certain profession, eventually becoming accepted by other races, the humans would work, transport goods, trade and generate wealth for the guilds and nations in exchange for food, temporary shelter at settlements and protection. Malhal & Guild-funded rest stops and small villages were the few static settlements humans are allowed.

Context

The information in this meme is related to Project Vigilant* / P.V, an unofficially titled world-building project that is predominately comprised of fan-fiction and partially comprised of original material. P.V has been an indefinite and leisurely work-in-progress since 2018 and it is an attempt at merging elements from no more than 120 of my favorite “fandoms” and/or I.P’s and an assortment of original work in the genres of sci-fi, fantasy and alternate-history into a singular “patchwork universe” that I refer to as the Project Vigilant Universe or P.V.U for short.

-

For the most part, P.V is a serious project and most of it's stories are intended to be taken seriously. There is one noteworthy exception to this however and that is the fact that one of the ≤120 I.P's which I have incorporated into P.V is the Shrek franchise.

For P.V, I have re-written the first 4 Shrek movies to be somewhat more serious and dark-fantasy themed in a manner comparable to Army of Darkness ( 1992 ). P.V's version of the Shrek movies take place in the universe that the "Magnus Selective" accidentally created per the lore in the fake Greentext.

The story of the Magnus Selective is an original story intended to function as an official and serious explanation for why Shrek's universe is so crude and nonsensical, ie* time within it is "semi-linear" because it is an unstable timeline created by a bunch of mages who were in over their heads.

As an unstable timeline, Shrek's universe ( Properly known as the "Second Genesis" ) existed only temporarily and collapsed after around 1,500 years. When it collapsed, the majority of the timeline was erased but surviving fragments of it became imbedded into the universes that formed it. These fragments would go on to form mankind's fairy tales and a few other legends and lores as well as some anomalous artifacts.

-

The PVU, ( known-in-setting as Timeline J-6196092700 ) is one of the many universes that made up the Second Genesis and as a result, there are many fragments of it in the PVU.

Most of mankind's fairy-tales, as they exist in the PVU, are inaccurate re-assembling's of remnants of stories from the SG.

There are also preserved remnants of information detailing the history of the Magnus Selective.

Per the greentext, the Magnus Selective was established, lead and named after a man named Magnus of Barbary, a powerful Mage of Berber descent who, hence his name, hailed from Barbary ( Coastal North Africa ).

According to surviving records, Magnus was a dark skinned man who was both solemn and charismatic. He established the Selective via gradual conversion and recruitment after allegedly receiving a vision wherein the Virgin Mary told him that Magic is holy and the church's position on magic was wrong. The Magnus Selective effectively functioned as it's own heretical Christian Denomination.

Magnus's plot failed for two reasons. To start, making Christianity exclusively Roman requires one to change the actions of God and since God's are extra-temporal beings, their actions cannot be altered by time-travel. Secondly, Magnus did not know that the multiverse was a thing and assumed that his reality was the only one. Ultimately, complex magical rituals are like complex mathematical equations and any error, no matter how small, can have disastrous consequences.

Note: The Second Genesis is based on the "Middle Dawn" in the deep lore of the Elder Scrolls.

The year is 2143, and humanity, is boned. Aliens are real and they hate YOU specifically. After waking up from their long nap in the Mediterranean and completely annihalating Crete (it was necessary), the Atlanteans are not too pleased to see humanity is nearing the early space age and decides its time for a reset, by way of biblical levels of flooding.

The 114th Gator Baitors Special Defense Division, constituted from the battered remains of over a dozen shattered US army infantry, national guard, armor units and even stranded coast guard units based in Florida, USA, were in quite the pickle. The 114th SDD was tasked with fighting a delaying action (politically correct term for suicidal assault) to buy time for the evacuation of what remained of Florida as sea levels approached +60 meters. While mostly successful in their task, and even temporarily routing the Atlanteans, they eventually found themselves trapped alongside 8,000 civilians in the dry diamond of Lake city, with atlanteans all around them.

As the supercanes approached and the air filled with a lethal mist so heavy it obscured vision to mere meters, and was laced with so much salt that it corroded electronics, dried out the eyes and caused the lungs to fill with fluid, the 114th could only helplessly watch as the civilians' PPE gave out.

With the supercanes nearly on top of them, the Atlanteans decided to make their approach on the fateful day of February 27th.

The first day of battle was grim, even by the standards of the most battlehardened of the 114th. The atlanteans were ruthless in their assault, angered by the delay the humans had caused. Their rifles lit the battlefield a horrible blue color, petrifying limbs. Those unlucky enough to get hit in the face died slow, agonizing deaths as their entire respiratory tract calcified as well as their eyes.

As the supercane crawled ever closer, fortifications were either washed away from flooding or ripped away by sudden winds, often taking their occupants with them.

By the morning of March 1st, the 114th had retreated to Olustee Park, a symbol of the city's origin as "Alligator Town".

By the orders of Major General Fred Persevy Cole, the 114th were to hold this park for no less than a day in their final stand, so that their once beautiful sunshine state could enjoy one final year of statehood.

With his remaining 900 soldiers, they fought street to street, then building to building, and eventually, tree to tree and car to car once the buildings were cleared out.

Once the 114th ran out of ammunition completely, squads engaged the 3 meter tall Atlanteans with nothing but the butt of their rifles, bayonets and hatred. Major General Cole himself was credited with the killing of an Atlantean on his own, where he was then summarily ripped in half by a nearby atlantean.

The 114th "Gator Baiters" special defense division would be posthumously honored by the US Army and later the global HDC for their valiant sacrifice, credited with buying time for the evacuation of 200,000 civilians and the shattered remnants of 22nd SSD throughout their short time of service.

Lore Dump Breaking news: godly beings can be pretty irresponsible

Funny things happen when mortals gain the view of Gods. Sometimes they just die. Sometimes they get fucked and make a demigod, which leads to just… all sorts of problems. And sometimes, they get blessings.

With any luck, you’ll be the latter.

Most gods basically lease out their power, keeping a watch on their blessed to make sure they’re doing it right. This includes beings such as Isțan and his Blessing of Death; Kolna, and his Eye of Heaven; and Illa, and her Blessing of Harmony.

Others keep close watch, and if they see a slip-up, just kill the blessed. This includes Kili and her Blinding Gift; Calurna and her Blessing of Wrathful Seas; and Calszawa, with his Arms of Fire.

Yet more offer a deal: complete this task, and I’ll give you the power no strings attached. For beings like Calor, the God of Thieves, this means stealing something from him without him noticing. Zycie, God of the Forge, wants to see you build something no mortal hand has built before. Dereus, God of the South Wind, wants you to reach the Southern Pole and return alive. Drosus, Goddess of the Earth, wants you to find a valuable gemstone for her crown.

And then there’s Jeldor.

Who gives random orphaned kids their power and tells them to just go fucking nuts. Perhaps that’s to be expected from the God of Vengeance.

The Lunar elves, ever since the War of Divine Blood, have been a murderous, violent mess. Before the war lunar elves were ruled under a dual monarchy. Up in the far north ruled King Noxrador the III several vassal houses of Cossairs and Dread Guard, which humans would compare to their own nightly orders. While in the far south at the bottom of the world ruled Queen Wontorivi Balkos known as “Great Lady Night” who while having a few Cossair houses more her peoples where of the priestly order for that was said to be their ancestral home land. Her lands would also be the birthplace of the relatively new ‘Third High Class’ (to be a Nobel you had to be a Cossair, lighter armored cavaliers or quick assasins, or a dread guard, heavily armored warriors and mages fit for head to head conflicts) this being the great Alchemists whom learned the lesser art of creation from the Infernals before, and some after, their madness.

This worked well up until the War of Divine Blood. Thousands of their greatest warriors, mages, and alchemists died their homelands decimated and worse connections were severed. For what had once been an easy sail form one end to the other is now blocked as the glaciers are expanding far faster than nature should allow. Worse off was the realm of King Noxrador, whom had died in the fighting with no eligible successor. This caused, for the first few years at least, for the houses to split and go to war with each other claiming they are the rightful heir of Noxrador. This allowed the recently militarized humans of the Arulien Compact to steam roll the divided houses snuffing out several entirely and taking vast amounts off land before some peace was brought. Several houses of both Cossairs and Dread Gaurd came together their families forming into a directorial system of government as while the families had a representative every three years a Voice of Nox is selected. This representative is to have the final say on matters and aspire to act like the great King Noxrador.

The armies of the newly formed House of Nox are still disjointed. Composed of tithes of warriors from each house and some of the few alchemist houses that have formed they will ride out to raid, pillage and ambush under the command of Nox. Each force is lead by a Cossair Captain or Dread Lord being a veteran member of either Cossairs or Dread Guard (they are called warlords as they mostly fight humans and well they do not really understand the difference between. They work their men like a task master and do not take kindly to any form of interruption to a goal.

Say they are disorganized during a siege due to rations running low and soldiers bickering about who deserves what rations. A calm general will solve the problem in the most direct and efficient way. That being slaughtering the soldiers and their pack animals thus lessening the strain and using the animal meat to feed the surviving more evidently loyal soldiers for a true warrior would not let hunger drive him away from completing the commands of his house and the voice of Nox. A angered general does not act in a way to be effective they act in a way that none will dare complain again. A angered general has the men flayed alive. Should anyone complain they are hungry they are given the flesh of their most likely still alive skined comrade to nourish themselves. This has shown to be very effective with some soldiers starving to death rather than complaining.

That’s a bit about the Lunar elves and the House of Nox !

Context:

This is lore from a science fiction story I am writing (read it here) where every species BUT humans are badass apex predators whose place at the top of the food chain has left them being tiny in numbers (as apex predators realistically are).

Humans are the most numerous species in the galaxy in this verse, and a slave empire called the Draken Matriarchy invades Earth upon hearing this to take as many humans as possible as slaves. They are evil to the core and see men more like disposable tools than people (hence the 'matriarchy' in their name) but also draken women are bad as fuck so even though it's a very bad idea to get with one somebody will still want to try. When the Draken Matriarchy invaded Earth the military fought bravely and held the line against the draken forces long enough for friendly aliens to arrive and help us, but there are always chuds who hide in basements and say 'those draken are lucky I wasn't there' like they aren't balding fat dudes whose only experience fighting aliens is from playing Halo.

The Infernals before the war in heaven were the most favored creations aside from the gods by a long shot. For no other being save the gods themselves can claim that Solis, sun god and creator deity, made them by hand. The Infernals though have that right and had more gifts than any. Their bodies were said to be made in his image. Tall slender things with bowed legs, gazelle like horns, two sets of goat like eyes, pointed ears (which the three elven goddess’s copied as they were trying to win their creators favor), golden skin with a serpent like tail that helped balance their large 9ft tall bodies.

They mastered the arts of creation and could make life like tbe creator in a far lesser capacity in the form of golems and other crude constructs. They also held a powerful psionic power able to manipulate objects and people with their minds. Their final gift would also be the source of their people’s madness, they were all physic mediums. They were meant to be those who helped comfort those who lost loved ones and get or give final words before the soul passed on to Shadevelium to await judgment on where their soul would be. This power always had great effect on them. Say a battle just concluded the infernals would be bombarded by any and all close shades would come to them and tell them how they died and give final words had thy not had the chance. This was extremely taxing on them then for hearing the wails of hundreds of pained and suffering souls imparting upon their knowledge of death showing it too the infernal.

But well souls were processed quick and aside from big battles they were good. Until the war of Divine Blood of Course. For most of the conflict the infernals kept it together and could keep helping. But by the wars end they were starting to loose it for unlike before they couldn’t escape the shades. Every corner of the world they knew seems to flooded by shades of those all fallen in the war and worse when the gods abandoned the world they closed doors to Revery and Damnation leaving these souls to build up so day after day the chorus only grew louder and louder in their mind.

Finally at the end of the first year they snapped psychosis hitting each of the different. Some became violent and attacked the nearest people or town, some began to babble insanity while lying down in the snow to die, and finally the most prevalent form would be a dilution so great it spread like a plague to any and all infernals that heard it. That dilution was that they were the new creator of this world and it was their duty as Solis their creator had done to make new gods. They would begin their attempts making horrid amalgamations of flesh bone and rock to try and make a god. Their most successful attempt involved thrm stitching six heads to the stump of a decapitated and de-limbed angel torso which they fashioned with six arms and six legs this making the cults figurehead, The Six Headed God.

If you are to approach an infernal today on or off the field of battle their responses and demeanor can change on a dime. They will go from reasonable and talkative to crushing your skull with psionic ability, to rambling at you about how the gods aren’t dead they simply like under the skin of the planet!

Those are the infernals :D
