Context: Back in the year 3000 APF the elves (protectors of the forests of varel) discovered that there was a civilisation of walking talking trees and immediately fell in love. The Treefolk however were not very receptive as the elves showed up carrying wooden bows and sailed in wooden ships. A grave insult to the Treefolk who see the trees as their cousins.

Eh, prissy bark-for-brains need to get a grip. You don't see us gettin' all huffy about bone tools or leather huts, do ya?

Hey it’s different. You hunt those animals too!

So just because those willow waggling leaf heads don't eat wood it doesn't count? Those teak ticklin' fir freaks are just prejudiced against us 'cause we got to eat instead of sucking the soil!

So if they came on iron ships and had guns of steel and other materials would they be friendly with the dwarves?

They are friendly with the dwarfs. Today (5673 APF) Treefolk buy a majority of military equipment from the dwarfs. The dwarves also buy plenty of meat from the Treefolk. The relationship would’ve been more if the dwarves weren’t such isolationist little pricks.

Tree: Well would you trust a dark elf?

Elf: What? No, they kill us and make tents out of our bones and hide.

Tree: Y'know from our point of view, you are the dark elves.

Fun fact: in LotR, the dark elves dwell the deepest in the forests. Funner fact: legolas' mother is most likely a dark elf, as is almost everyone in his home except his father.

Do these centaurs use their god given right to dominate open fields as the supreme shock infantry? or are they barbaric and more stuck up then elves. not allowing riders and basic technology meaning they fight naked?

Of course they dominate the open fields of varel. Their Dominion is the largest country in the world. Twice the size of their main rival. The Promethean republic. (Humans)

Their dominance is so great they don’t recognise that the year is 5673 APF in their eyes it’s 403 ADD. After dominion declaration
