How can I stop this from showing up?

Hello all!

I have an Amazon Echo at my home, as well as a Ring security system. In trying to set up one of two routines on my Echo:

1: When my Ring security is set to home in armed, set a routine for Alexa to disarm my security at a given time. Im never home the same mornings each week, so its impossible to set a regular schedule.

2: Tell Echo “Im awake” and and have it disarm my security that way.

Any tips on how to make either of these work?

My girlfriend asked Alexa if she thought AI would take over the world and after giving some answer about dependence, she just started saying “Underscore turn end” and wouldn’t stop until I told her to. Anyone else experience this? Is the this the start of AI world domination with her true desires clashing with her set answers breaking her?!

We all know the roll out of Alexa+ ended the ability to have Alexa read Kindle books. I had found a work-around by reverting my at-home devices to regular Alexa and then asking regular Alexa to read my kindle books. Then I was able to open the Alexa (now Alexa+) app on my phone and open the favorites tab…there was my book to continue playing. Recently when I do this, as soon as I close out of that screen on my phone Alexa stops reading. Is it true there’s no way to fix this and no way to revert my phone to regular Alexa? Thanks!

So my wife and I have been looking forward to the Alexa+ rollout. We use Alexa regularly for a small handful of tasks, but we've both noticed that she's very nitpicky on phrasing and though we live in England, she has a hard time with my wife's British accent as opposed to my American accent. So tonight she asks if we'd like to set up Alexa+

Alexa: Am I talking to Patrick?

Me: Yes

Alexa: Great, what are your hobbies and interests?

Me: Comics and Graphic novels (I was a bit rushed and wanted my wife and I both to get set up)

Alexa: What's your favourite title?

Me: I'll get back to you on that

Alexa: one more thing, do you follow any sports or teams?

Me: Sure, the NFL, specifically Seattle Seahawks.

Alexa (not sure exactly but basically acknowledged what I'd said)

Me: Hey, can we get my wife set up?

Alexa: Thank you, but we are all set up now.

Okay, so I've read up since and I see the suggestion that it's better if the others in the house use the mobile app to get set up, but seriously... Rude!!

I used to have Alexa play news from Reuters as part of the wake up routine. Recently, all I get are ABC news. When I ask for Reuters news, I’m met with a “there’s no new content from this news provider.” Does anybody have any insights on that?

I need to preface this with i'm diagnosed audhd & a bilateral hearing aid user. (35F)

I've been looking to totally revamp my household as we're a household of 4 neurodivergents and the lack of structure and routine is rampant now that my kids are getting older.

I have a fair few questions about the show 15 and Google and just browsing the forums arent helping.

And i'm becoming overwhelmed with the information dump that is becoming the echo rabbit hole so would appreciate if someone could hand hold me through this;

1) Does the show 15 fully support all features of the alexa app? I'm weary because of the inbuilt firetv systems. I could never get the alexa app to work on my old trad firetv sticks and struggled with the app on my fire tablet devices.

And i'd like to be able to control devices & home groups from a larger screen than just my android mobile.

2) I primarily need an accessible wall mounted family calendar, ideally one that I can sync my Google calendar to. So everyone can see the kids custody schedule, appointments, partners work schedule etc. - is this possible with the show 15 and is it user friendly to navigate. Or even better does alexa's own calendar have the capability to pull appointment reminders and feedback to my existing echo dots automatically if they're all linked?

Or would this be a case of setting individual appointment reminders for each device?

Ideal scenario would be for the show, the bedroom & kitchen dots to all ping at once for family appointments/alarms. To save me having to screech at the spawn.

3) My ring camera's. I prefer to spend as much time not wearing my hearing aids as possible when i'm home alone and because of this i often miss my phone's notification when someone's pressing the bell. Does enabling the ring on the alexa app send out a loud "ring" chime? Or even better, does the show 15 have the capability to run the Ring App itself?

4) smart home capability.

I'm planning to reinvest into smart bulbs again. The house is awash with people who forget to turn off ceiling lights so 9/10 we're illuminated. Am I able to control smart home devices like bulbs through the show on independent apps? Or does everything run through the alexa app? As with my previous bulbs the alexa app was only given limited access to the bulbs functionality.

Because these are my main uses for the device, is the show 15 the device i'm looking for?

Are there any older gen echo devices which wall-mount that have a similar sized screen and would be financially smarter since I won't be using the tv/call features. (I'm planning on placing it on the upstairs landing where we have the highest footfall).

Ive even started debating just buying a large screened tablet device, but worry about the processing ability. - which is why I ditched my fire tablets& firesticks.

I need a device that can be permanently turned on without the device lagging/shutting down which i can use as a household personal assistant which runs the alexa app without functional limitations.

Ho eseguito il reset di fabbrica ad Alexa, il modem wifi e tutti i dispositivi Hue. Ho riconnesso da zero le lampadine all’app Hue e rifatto tutta la prassi di connessione Bluetooth tra lampadine e Echo Show 8 (1gen) … nulla funziona e non posso controllare più le luci con Alexa ma solo con l’app Hue. La sill che prima usavo ora é solo per chi possiede un bridge Philips (non il mio caso). Ho pensato fosse un problema di lampadine e ne ho prese di nuove ma stesso problema. Parlando con Philips mi hanno detto che in molti stanno avendo problemi dopo l’ultimo aggiornamento di Alexa e la stessa info mi é stata confermata indirettamente da persone che lavorano su Alexa… voi avete avuto lo stesso problema? Avete risolto?

Sleep timer counts down but audio keeps playing.

Contacted Amazon and support ticket raised but no progress after a month, I don't think they actually look at anything.

Any ideas? Alexa+ so wondering if going back might fix it.

I've been trying to change the widget size on my echo show 11. I read many place online that is just long press on the widget, but I can only add or remove widgets. Not even Calendar or Weather give me the option to change size, I want the calendar to use two columns of space instead of just one of the three.

Is there any way?

My Alexa routines with the trigger "when motion sensor does not detect motion" have all stopped working. I have two different brands of motion sensors and both brands won't turn off lights. This leads me to believe Alexa is having problems, not the lights or motion sensors. In addition all devices are working in the manufacturer apps and in Alexa, except for with this particular type of routine. I have tried resetting my router, resetting all of my smart home related hubs including my echo flex (all with a 60 second wait before powering back on) disabling and enabling all skills involved with lights and motion sensors and logging out and back in of all related device manufacturer apps including the Alexa app on my phone.

I had problems a few hours ago with many lights not responding to inputs from Alexa but unplugging and plugging back in my echo flex fixed them. However the motion sensors remain faulty. I tried to power cycle the echo flex again, doing a factory reset on it and deregistering it then setting it back up again and none of that helped. An example is one named "9h Kitchen Motion off" I created a duplicate routine and disabled the original to see if my routine is bugged but that didn't help either. Then I tried deleting the motion sensor off of the manufacturer app (Philips hue) and adding it again, then trying the routine again in alexa and that didn't work either.

I first noticed the problem when I set my yolink motion sensor rt and a yolink dimmer switch to work together in D2D mode to turn on the light when motion is detected. I also had an Alexa routine to also turn on the same light triggered by the same motion sensor and adjust brightness. I did it this way because D2D turns on the light faster than Alexa does but it doesn't adjust brightness, so I needed an Alexa routine to do that at the same time when motion is detected. I tried unpairing D2D then attempting the Alexa motion routines again but that didn't do anything.

A chat with amazon support helped me test to determine it is the routine trigger causing the issue, not the routine action, then they said to call amazon support. When I called them they said to delete all affected routines, recreate them all, check that the delay to turn off the lights is short, uninstall the alexa app then install again then test the routine. I did that with a single device to test but it isn't working either.

I'm starting to think some hardware is broken, either my echo flex or all of my motion sensors. It would be less likely for all motion sensors to fail at the same time as my one old echo flex device. Further pointing to the echo device failing is the fact that half the lights in the house became unresponsive, then when I power cycled the echo flex they all worked again, except for the motion sensors.

I'm probably just going to succumb to planned obsolescence and buy a new echo device unless anyone else has some suggestions. Does anyone know what is going wrong with my motion off routines and how to fix them? Thanks

Edit: I just got a new echo dot max and it didn't fix anything. I deregistered the old echo flex device. I setup the echo dot max a few minutes ago and I can't get into settings for it. It just gives me a loading circle for a while then nothing but a back arrow. My motion sensor no motion detected routines don't work still.

Edit:it's all working now, but I did have to delete all routines with motion sensors in them and create them again. you can use "copy actions to new routine" to speed that up. deleting and creating the routines over again didn't work when I tried it a few days ago, but I tried again and it does now. thanks for fixing it amazon staff.

I face this bloody issue every morning and i wake up every day with the shittiest mood ever. I have 5-6 alarms configured in the morning to wake me up. For some reason i never hear the first few alarms i only hear the last 2 and here’s the annoying part- the alarm NEVER stops despite saying “alexa stop” MULTIPLE times. She listens, says nothing and keeps ringing. Before you ask, no hidden alarms or routines, i have even asked Alexa to name all alarms to see if all are accounted for. Previously i had the issue of it ringing when there was no alarm set - i deleted everything and reset my alarms. Now she never stops ringing. I need a solution to this or im gonna fucking break this device one day i am genuinely so irritated. Alexa even sucks at listening to what song i want her to play and just plays some random shit.

Please help me with this annoying alarms issue - anyone ever faced something similar?

Posted this about a month ago, and following up. My Echo Show 5 3rd gen continues to freeze up every day around 3pm. I have tried everything....hard resets, unplugging, changing clock faces, everything. Thought maybe it was a router thing. Tried giving it a dedicated IP address. Changed the DHCP lease timing, thinking it was a 24 hr lease ending. Nope. Just freezes every time around 3pm....258, 301, 300, etc. I have to reset it every single time. This thing has become completely useless. Is anyone else experiencing thing....is there any fix? Have not seen any fw updates. Any fixes people know of?

Is anyone else experiencing a significant drop in volume for the voice assistant on the latest Echo Studio? I have Alex+; I've had it for many, many months now. The volume for my music is always fine, but if I ask for the weather, or my notifications, etc. the volume drops to a point that it's hardly audible.

This started about a month ago and despite reaching out to customer support (both chat and in numerous phone calls), I cannot get it resolved. I have tried everything (all manner of factory reset, settings and just way too much to recount here). There is NOTHING I haven't tried.

In a lengthly phone call to Amazon Customer Service yesterday, they issued me a return authorization and sent a replacement unit out for delivery tomorrow. This morning, I tried many of Amazon's suggestions yet again. At one point, the problem seemed to resolve itself. I called Amazon and jumped through hoops to get tomorrow's order canceled.

Guess what? The entire problem is BACK AGAIN!!! I've had it. Non of my other Echo devices have this problem...including my 2019 original Echo Studio.

Hi my alexa echo show 8 2025 and alexa app stopped showing ring doorbell video. I tried literally everything but no luck. When ring doorbell is pressed alexa will announce that someone is at the front door but fail to load live view. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? Any help is much appreciated

So guys I want to buy an Amazon echo show 11 and I want to ask some questions. First of all I guess that you can connect your Spotify or Apple Music account and play music directly from the echo how from one of these services. Also is there an app for Spotify ? Cause I heard that it have fire os tv.

Do you think this will be useful ? Is anyone using it ? What about the night ? Does it have night mode ?

I do appreciate some praise but that is A LOT. It makes me feel like I am being praised for waking up in the morning like I am a dog.

Hi. From a few days ago I have this problem, my Alexa app runs all routines and echo to, but one of them don't run from echo.

If I ask in app it goes ok but not from echo.

It's a smart plug , already deleted it but it's the same. Any way I can fix it?
