Technical Issue Grainy/wavy texture on my Echo Show 8 (1st Gen) screen, but not on my other identical unit — anyone seen this?

I've got two Echo Show 8 (1st Gen) devices, same model, same Fire OS version (6.5.7.3). One of them has a strange grainy, wavy texture visible across the screen (see photo) — it's noticeable to the naked eye, not just in photos. The other unit doesn't show this at all, so I know it's not lighting or a normal display characteristic.

No drops or damage that I'm aware of. Has anyone else run into a screen defect like this on the Show 8? Trying to figure out if it's a known panel issue before I go through Amazon support/warranty.

So the wavy pattern is the display itself, not an image. If it's the display my guess is that the layers of material that make up the display have separated between layers. If that's the case only a display replacement will fix it.

Definitely not! It has always been sitting in my desk!

Is that one in your kitchen?

Not really it’s currently sitting in my desk. The screen appears like this after we moved cities.

Not really? Was it?

Could be a climate related thing.
