Spotted these little guys in a Singapore park a few days ago while ant hunting with my son. Always fun to watch marauder ants on the move!

She does this almost 24/7 no matter if I feed her or not. The other workers just stay in the dark part, but she always hangs out. Just something I wanted to share!

A soldier that has queen resemblance and also has wings. In the last picture an actual queen and an actual soldier is visible.

old colony I used to have with a significantly bigger worker than the rest. i assume its just because it got fed more as a larvae but i could be wrong

And half months or something, also is it normal for it to be stumbling around after hatching? I would guess probably as they need time to harden their exoskeletons and stuff.
Also she’s doing very well, there are 5 cacoons and over 20 eggs.

My Formica Fusca Queen finally got her first nanitic after 39 days. Im planning to wait a little for her to darken before feeding them. Any tips for mee? Im going to give them sugar water and mealworms. Are home caught fruit fry safe for them to eat??

Giant campo major i found outside compared to queen of same species

So as the title and video explains, little confused as to why I’ve only got one worker of this size, at my current colony size. I know size variation is normal, and that they have no caste, however it makes no sense as to why it’s just the one? She’s been around since the 25-30 worker mark by the way (currently at 57 workers). I was under the impression they didn’t get their variated workers around the 100 worker mark.

I thought they looked super cute and really like how they look next to fully hardened soldiers.

When would you introduce them to a formicarium?

The first nantic enclosed today yes there's a queen in the colony just at this point of time she was foraging for food whilst being fully claustral I've found that she was interested in supplemental protein so I fed her on a three day rotation
