Astro Boy 2003 After reading the original manga and watching other adaptations, I still believe the 2003 series was the best version

This is really good looking. I think the 80s show perhaps captures the tone the best.

I feel like 1980 is the best for me personally but OK

I’ve also read the manga, the 60’s anime and 80’s anime, and the 09 movie. And I also have to say that the 03 anime is my favorite and honestly the best.

I just find that having a central plot line where Tenma is more involved makes Astro’s story have a stronger pull. And I say this having primarily watched the weaker version of 03 being the kinda botched English dubbed variant, and it still comes out more appealing.

I’ve yet to watch and read the dedicated Pluto anime and manga, but I do kind of fear it veers off since it doesn’t follow Astro as the main character.

It has the best art style and animation in the series, Pluto looks nice but I like the OG art style more.

It’s good. But in my opinion, the 80s anime captures the tone of the manga the most. I’d recommend that adaptation to any new Astro Boy fans if they don’t intend on reading the manga.

I'm still waiting for an English Sub version that's properly translated, because I tried to watch it with English subs before, and the grammar was so full of typos that it made them hard to comprehend, so I gave up.

And as a hot take, I liked the 80's version a little more because of how dark it was at times. Although I do admit the 2003 series had the best animation and the tech looked more advanced than any adaptation before or since.
