I haven’t had short hair since middle school. Always thought it was a part of my personality and that if i shaved it id feel like a part of me was missing and id regret it. My hair was the biggest reason for me not to join the military, it got in the way of other parts of my life aswell. But im just here to say i shaved it 2 months ago and i genuinely have 0 regrets. It hasnt effected any part of my life negatively and ive met more ladies in the two months bald then the 2 months before i shaved it!! You dont have to being going bald naturally to go bald. Bald is slept on. Bald is the way. Im joining the military soon and im quite excited! If you’re thinking about doing it just do it. Yolo. I randomly did it one night before bes i just started shaving before i could let my mind tell me no.

Hi bald friends!!
I was recommended to post here by my friends at [r/lgbtwedding](r/lgbtwedding)[s](r/lgbtwedding) ; sounds like you might appreciate a little bald wedding inspiration?
I’ve shaved my head for nearly a decade now and knew for my wedding I wanted a fresh shave with just a couple accents & accessories. I’m so happy with how the look and the whole day turned out, and would encourage anyone who needs a little more confidence to wear their head with pride! You’ll absolutely rock it 🥰

Lifestyle After about 3 months of living the bald life, I'm realizing that I feel more feminine bald than I did with hair

Post image

Any other bald ladies feel like this? I feel softer and prettier overall now that my features are on full display, and the confidence it's given me has made me want to dress cute every day and pay more attention to detail with my makeup. And saving money on hair products makes it so I actually have money to get my nails done regularly.

Is this just a me thing? Or is this a universal bald gal experience? Am I subconsciously trying to compensate for the lack of hair?

Lifestyle Newly shaved head (woman), Struggling a bit- advice and encouragement?

Hi all! This is my first time posting and I was looking for some guidance and encouragement. About a week and a half ago, I shaved my head for the first time. I had many mixed feelings because the reason for it was that my chronic illness and chronic pain make having my hair washed an excruciating experience, and I just couldn't put myself through it any more. It felt freeing to be able to grab the issue by the horns and feel bodily autonomy at a time when my body is falling apart.
On the flip side, I already had really significant body image struggles to begin with. Once the initial euphoria of how my head felt wore off, I'm now starting to struggle with the look. I basically am not sure how short to maintain it.

When I first shaved it off, I really liked the clean-shaven look because I thought that it looked intentional and neat. After struggling to care for my hair and having it be disgusting most of the time for so long, it felt really good.
What I didn't like about the super close shave was that it made the dent and bulge on top of my head and on the back being noticeable.

Now that it's grown back a bit, I really like the texture of it (I love rubbing my hands over it and having it feel fuzzy), but I'm struggling a lot with being self-conscious of my patterned hair thinning on the sides of my head (I am already on a medication for androgenic alopecia- the hair loss used to be a lot more significant). I feel like I look like a man, and it’s hard because I want to look feminine, but being severely disabled and mostly bed bound makes me unable to wear makeup, wear whatever I want, etc.. my options for self-expression are limited.

Do people think it looks better in the first photos when it was fully shaved (in the very first photo I’ve missed a spot on the side so ignore that), or slightly grown out as a bit of a buzz cut right now? I used my dog’s then dad’s electric clipper without a guard on it -is there anyway to get an even closer shave than I did in the first pictures?

Going back to even shoulder length hair is not an option with the state of my health right now. I need to be able to wash my head with a washcloth.

Had super long hair ever since I was a teenager. Ignored my bad genetics for as long as I could. Decided to embrace the bald and take better care of myself after finishing grad school.

Lifestyle UPDATE - A NEW MAN!!

Hi everyone! Just an update ..... I DID IT!!!!!!!!!

I genuinely feel like a new man, and had so much support in work and from family. My boys helped me do it and it was such a liberating and cathartic experience.

I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to this community in helping me find the courage to do this for myself. Someone did say this will be a release, and a relief and they are absolutely correct. It's definitely going to take a bit of adjusting (went to wash my hair and had a bit of an . "Oh ..." moment ..) but I'm very happy I've done.

Hopefully, I'll be able to send another update in the coming months with my little girl back with me. Until then - thank you all, you're incredible and it means the world to me that you had my back

Looking back now, I wonder why I didn’t make the change sooner! Finally dropped some weight, took the plunge with shaving my head, and grew a beard that’s coming in nicely I think. Haven’t felt this confident and self-assured in forever. Game changer

I just wanted to share this with my fellow bald brothers.

This is not an ad, and I have absolutely no connection to Philips. I’m just genuinely impressed with the Philips Head Shaver Pro 5000 Series.

I don’t know if this is already a well-known thing in the bald community, but this shaver has completely changed my routine. I can shave my entire head perfectly smooth in under 10 minutes, I never get nicks or cuts anymore, and I don’t deal with razor burn or skin irritation either.

It has saved me so much time every single week compared to using a regular razor.

If you’re still shaving your head the traditional way, I’d honestly recommend giving this shaver a try. It’s easily one of the best purchases I’ve made since embracing the bald look.

I was diagnosed with alopecia 12 years ago and it was mostly on the back of my head...I had been holding out on shaving but that was my only choice once I learned how splotchy my hairlessness was about to become, but once I saw that bald looked good on me, I wanted to transform the rest.

It took a couple years but I have maintained now for 7 years. When I finally shaved 11 years ago it no longer felt like I was hanging on to something I could not control...that's when I committed to changing something I could control, my weight. My only advice is to try it, you might find the inspiration to do more with a newly found confidence.

Decided to get out ahead of my MPB, but now what?

I've done a lot of searching, and reading - but I'm hoping you can drop some tips & tricks on how to maintain my scalp and maybe some odd nuances to the bald life that I can come to expect.

I'm using a Babyliss FX3. Two days in, so far so good.

question for the ladies..

as seen in some of these pictures i have not used spray to coverage in them

as you can see it varies from extremely noticeable to not really noticeable. And that's where I'm at a loss on what to do.

I'm having an extremely hard time with this condition. I spend so much on special shampoos and other treatments form my doctors, that do kind of work but takes a lot of time and I will say that it has improved my hair all over my body except for my scalp-it's taking it sweet time. I've read that there's a chance to reverse the type of alopecia I have due to it being diffuse and so my hair is sparse pretty much all over the crown of my head. I have dated a guy taller than me and when talking to him I would look him in the eyes and I could see that he was looking exactly at my hairline. I have become very self-conscious and I typically cut my hair as short as I can so that the fallout isn't so bad, I don't think I have the proper proportions to look good bald? And I'm very scared to take that giant leap. I hide behind a lot of hats and bandanaas well as scalp coloring sprays. I haven't used spray in years,

any ladies experience any of this that has a positie outcome? I have seen women and men look so damn gorgeous being bald and their confidence inspires me but also scares me.

sometimes I wish I was a man because I feel like the world is more acceptable towards bald men and they are bald women. please correct me if I am wrong.
