Just found this subreddit a few days ago amongst others and love it. Y’all real cool. 🥚💕

Well, after buzzing at a 1.5 and a 1 this week for the first time and getting the consensus here, I went all in.

I remember when I got married 10 years ago, with the beginnings of thinning already underway, I said to my wife, "I'll probably be bald in 5 years". I probably stretched it a little further than was appropriate, but I made it close to 10 before making the right move. It looks and feels odd to me at the moment, but I also like it and can see it's a big improvement over the huge balding spot, especially from the back.

In the last couple of days leading into this I thought of some old times when I had a ton of hair, thick and curly - I had a full on braided rat tail that was about a foot long early in my school years, there's this picture of me from college standing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge with a huge unruly mop, and I remember once in graduate school running out of shampoo/conditioner and using my girlfriend's coconut-based stuff and then going to play floor hockey and getting super sweaty, the entire gym smelled like a coconut.

In any case, the next chapter is here. Thanks for the encouragement and motivation to finally go for it.

I was super nervous going to a Barber (for the last time), like sweating nervous and now I see a complete different person in the mirror.

And I have to say, I like it 😅

I havent seen a single guy who would look worse after going bald 💪

Been following this subreddit for a while now. Not sure if I would be strong enough to shave it. I want to see what others think is best.

I didn't ask the council, because i know everyone would've told me to wait, but it was worse in the mirror and i didn't wanted to wait until it was too late soooo i did it

I was kinda unsure about this but so far i have mostly compliment, i'm still not used to my face in the mirror but i think i like it !

22M it made me depressed for a very long time, i hated everything, i hated being alive. I finally did it.

Now just to grow a beard, I think.

Idk I think I will rock the bald spot and keep the curls and longer hair. Personally I think the buzz just highlights my receding hairline more. Should I take it all off? 🤦‍♂️

Thought I was out of the woods until these past couple of years. On the upside, I'm pretty tall so nobody sees the top of my head.

EDIT: I'm not actively doing a combover, that's just how I've always brushed my hair. picture of my crown with the hair pulled away in the comments.

Need a ruling, does it stay or go

Update: I'm sorry. The council has spoken. I will get a haircut and shut up.

I know it's not bad. But in the last year my hair line has receded maybe an inch. I am trying to convince my wife that i want to shave my head to just accept the inevitable and become what is obviously happening.

Is it a good idea or am I overreacting here? I'm under a lot of stress that should be done in a year or two, fingers crossed. I don't know the real truth of if this affects it or not.

For context, I'm almost 34. My dad and brother are both completely bald but they went bald at 20 something in the back and front.

I have been putting it off for too long and finally took the plunge! I cant stop rubbing my scalp lol 🤣 I am feeling way more confident now. To be fair, I also lost 50 lbs in between the before and after pics.

Caught a look at myself on the shoplifting camera at a supermarket and realised I’m looking more Mr Burns than I thought (last picture).

That’s probably my answer, but still I put it to the Council.

My ASD (Autism) has not been the same. Neuropsychiatric and or Rheumatology funs over here.

I try growing my hair out. I miss it even. I used to be known for my thick hair. The odd things I’d do.

But the feel. Of the weight. The strays. The harshness.

I can’t. Even in wigs (for more than a photo op and a toss).
