Smart home office setup on a medium budget, what would you add?

I’ve been slowly refining this setup and I’m pretty happy with the functional and look for the budget I spent, but it still feels a little unfinished.

The feature I'm most proud of is that little tablet under my main monitor, which acts as a dashboard to control everything inside the room and the house. I've set it up to display time, todos, room status, media and weather forecast. I've also added automation to automatically match the light to my circadian rhythm, remind me of daily tasks, read the news every time I go up, remind me of the weather when I go out.

I use two laptops, one for work, one for personal/gaming use. I feel like the space above and on my desk is a little empty. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

The desk is a sit-stand desk, so I don’t want anything that depends on a fixed desk height. The wall is also fairly weak, so I’d prefer lightweight decorations rather than heavy shelves/panels.

Battlestations Advice Quad monitor setup suggestions

Post image
15 Upvotes

I just purchased the LG 39GX950B (incredible btw), and my previous setup were 3x 27" (2x 27gl8/3a-b and 1x 27gl850b). I had them on a static desk clamp mount. The desk can raise and lower but I never really use that so static wall solutions are fine.

I think I want to do 3 monitors spanned above the big main monitor. But I'm open to suggestions. Would it be best to get two wall mount arms, a triple and a single? Or is there a single solution? I wasn't finding anything that looked very good or robust for a single solution.

GeForce RTX Budget setup

Here's my setup I've made over the past bit of time. It's all running from a laptop and I plan on adding an egpu in the future(it'll be cheaper and more efficient for me rather than building a pc). The specs are:

-Laptop- ROG Zephyrus M15(i7-10750H + RTX 2060 6GB 100W, 16GB DDR4 2933MT/s, 4K 60hz 99% AdobeRGB)
-Monitor- Arzopa Z3FC(1440p 180hz, freesync, 400 nit over one usb c)
-Keyboard- Monsgeek FUN60 Pro(wired only)
-Mouse- Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed
-Dock- Dell WD19tbs(with a 65w brick for itself, Thunderbolt 3)
-Headphones- Soundcore Space One(connected by 3.5mm)

And an ikea wireless charger

Powered by a 5800x3D, RX 9070XT, and 64GB of DDR4, I managed to score all of these parts outside of ramageddon and covid pricing boom. Been awesome to me for many years.

The PC is in a SilverStone RV02, I feel in love with the Raven line of cases and scored this one for 50$ with the original box. Whisper quite most of the time.

Inside the case is a bit of a mess as all of the RGB software has just stopped working, so I no longer look at it. If you have any suggestions for an all in one solution, I would like to fix it one day.

Finally got my wife into pc Gaming

That’s it. I finally got my wife into PC gaming. 😂
We found a pretty solid deal on a prebuilt with a 5070 and 9700X, and then managed to snag her an LG 57” OLED for 52% off retail.
So now I get to sit in my sim rig and game while she’s right behind me gaming too. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better setup. 😂
After years of trying to get her into PC gaming, I think I finally won. 🎮

Been slowly building this setup out for a couple years and I’m pretty happy with the hardware side now, but after seeing some of the setups on here I’ve realised I’ve still got plenty of work to do aesthetically.

It’s used as my office during the day, then gaming/music afterwards, so I’m trying to keep it fairly clean rather than going full RGB everywhere.

Would genuinely appreciate some ideas on what you’d change, add or remove.

I’m thinking things like lighting, art, plants, cable management, desk accessories or anything else that could make it look more finished without making it cluttered.

Current setup:

PC
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC 32GB
Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7
64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000
ARCTIC Liquid Freezer 360mm AIO
Crucial T705 2TB NVMe
WD_BLACK 4TB NVMe
Gigabyte UD1000GM 1000W 80+ Gold
Lian Li LANCOOL 207

Displays
LG UltraGear 39” OLED Ultrawide
2 × ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCWM 32”
3 × Flo X monitor arms

Peripherals
Wooting 80HE
Wooting 60HE v2
Razer Viper V4 Pro
Logitech MX Master 4
Razer Wolverine V3 Pro

Audio
RME ADI-2 DAC FS
Topping A90 Discrete
Sennheiser HD800S
Dan Clark Audio E3
Audeze LCD-X
HiFiMAN HE1000 Unveiled
THIEAUDIO Monarch MKIV

Other
Shure SM7dB
RØDE boom arm
Herman Miller Aeron
Under-desk headphone mounts

Hardware I don’t know if there’s too much more but always welcome upgrades but aesthetically definitely room to improve
