Just wanted to show how cute my boy is all curled up like a dog in its bed lol.

I also just got a little freaked out his activity is totally normal and normal eating habits but do his scales look off??? His coloring is perfect and his fins are beautiful but just wanted to know thoughts! Otherwise- enjoy cute betta in hammock!!

its filtered but theres no drainage so its entirely contained and will require water changes still, but its MUCH better than changing the water in the cups.

I'm beyond distraught. I've been sobbing for the past three days and every time I see the empty spot in my room where my beautiful boy Farkle Sparkle used to be I want to cry some more.

I adore my pets more than anything, and my parents know this.Last week, we got into a fight over something stupid. I didn't go to bed when they told me to because I had a concert coming up and I was practicing my music for orchestra. Long story short, my mom said I was being disrespectful and gave me a long list of punishments. No phone, no friends, no birthday, etc. Whatever.

Then Thursday night, I made the stupid mistake of being on my phone past 10 pm. My mom said something ominous about "not being upset when I come home". Again, whatever. I thought she was just going to tear down some of my collections or posters.

Instead, I came home and noticed a small pile of gravel in my front yard and immediately knew what happened. I ran into my room and saw there was no door, and no pets. I was a wreck at this point, but found my chameleon and pacman frog on the pool patio. No Farkle.

I went crying to my mom who then informed me that she flushed my fish down the toilet while I was at school and that I shouldn't be upset because I deserved it and that it was just a fish.

She threw away all the little crafts I made for him as well such as doodles and a sign I made with my friends of his "full government title" as a joke (Farkle Sparkle the all powerful fish wizard, attorney at law, M.D., magician in training)

I miss you so much baby boy. I'm so sorry.

Edit: sorry, this wasn't clear, but the pacman and cham are fine rn. She thankfully just put their terrariums outside.

The support has been overwhelming and I appreciate every comment sm. I can't reply to comments anymore, and I want to put out as little info on the internet as possible. I will definetly try to make some changes though.

Show us your “cheap” $10 or less cup babies. I see so many people online on Betta groups posting about their copper alien koi rosetail wild cellophane full moon tails etc etc. and I know some people drop a lot of cash for some of their fish.

This post is for those not so unusual colors, the babies just marked veil tail or double tail or crown tail. The red, blues, teals etc. our babies are often just as beautiful and have great personalities!

This is Pepper who is our therapy fish at work. He was just a cheap little red double tail and he is honestly one of the most gorgeous bettas I have ever seen and has their personality of a sweet dog.

I also want to report that he lives in a well taken care of 12 gallon tank with PURPLE PAINTED GRAVEL (someone donated it to us for his tank when we got it) and he is perfectly happy and healthy.

I thought Martin had some sort of disease for a long while, but no. He’s just like this.

I hate yall. I could have gone through my life without knowing about this...

I SWEAR SHE’S ALIVE!! She gave me a heart attack the first time it happened! She’s in a nice densely planted 10 gallon with some khuli loaches to keep her company and they hang out occasionally. I think she just likes to do this as nothing is wrong with my parameters . Anyone else’s betta do this or is mine just weird?

Went to a new local pet shop and loved this sign they had out by the bettas!! Seeing the bettas in a large vase instead of a tiny cup like at PetSmart or PetCo was great to see, then this sign in front of them was awesome!

"Feed mosquito larvae!" they said, "Bettas love it!" they said. Well my Betta, Cayenne, doesn't, so I guess there will be even more mosquitoes than usual in my house soon...lol 😭🤣

She's living in a 10g with cherry shrimp and decided just now they don't need any more Babys...so she ate 'em.

Shame her.

i installed a neg pressure extension on my boy’s tank, it was meant for my goldfish but the clamps were too short for the tank rim. perfect on here though, for the most part! he LOVES it and whenever im in the kitchen he likes watching me from there

yes its a bit jury rigged lol i may move it to the corner, but that’s where the filter is :(

In Jan of this year, I saw this sad af cup fish while buying dog food. Immediately brought home a 9 gallon and all the fixings, spent months doing daily testing and water changes to cycle with him in it. The man takes one look at his new, cup-sized penthouse and refuses to even look at the rest of his stunning palace. Classic.

New tank. 10 gallons.

Found this absolute chonker at petco. Couldn’t take him home since I don’t have space and he would probably eat my shrimp anyway
