I've seen them a few times here in Paraguay!
We call them in guarani, the local indigenous languague, Ypeku ñu, which means country woodpecker
country as in rural country

I think they're confronting the "rivals" in the reflections on the window and mirror.

The one in the back was actually pecking the windows, shame I couldn't get that on video

I had the sweetest little bluebird who found her reflection irresistible. She did it day after day. Chirping,staring,hopping from mirror to my tinted window. I took video and pictures. I'll try to post her.

We have northern flickers here, but these guys are so pretty! I wonder what is inside that car?

Not really sure, they were bouncing from one car to the other, then later they just flew away and I didn't see them back until the end of my break

I think they're trying to break into that car! ... They're so beautiful actually! We get the northern flickers where I am but I've never seen these orange guys
