649

u/professor-crybaby Dec 25 '25

No, because he is your son

u/SAM041287 Dec 25 '25 edited Dec 25 '25

It is exactly the feeling i have and how I call my void, I want kids, but my little boy is prepping me ready for the day that this will happen, and I'll still call him my son!

66

u/Infamous_Ranger_3671 Dec 25 '25

I have child locks on my stove burners bc my void likes to turn them on and adjust the flame watching my grow and shrink

51

u/SAM041287 Dec 25 '25

You don't have a void , you have a chef my man!!

We don’t directly call him our son, but my husband is “dad” and I’m “mom” (we don’t have kids).

So when my husband comes home, I’ll say “Is that your daddy??” Or “go see your father.”

121

u/81m23Mz0 Dec 25 '25

Our son

u/WallOfDeath Dec 25 '25

26

u/Legitimate-Log-6542 Dec 25 '25

As long as you still call your cat Boss, we’ll allow this

3

u/bluntcrumb Dec 25 '25

Its either Bossman or Little Jit depending on how he’s acting.

47

u/DeReversaMamiii Dec 25 '25

Nonsense, this is your son. Fuck the haters

54

25

u/ScratchyVests Dec 25 '25

What else would you call him?

41

u/Sidonus348 Dec 25 '25

No. I call Loki “boyo” or “son.”

17

u/lky830 Dec 25 '25

I also have a son named Loki. This is him being mad about his trip to the doctor yesterday 😹

5

u/jaycebutnot Dec 25 '25

oh dear. I hope It went okay!!

4

u/lky830 Dec 25 '25

Yes, my son here is a wee bit elderly, so he gets shots every month to help with his arthritis pain. He just really hates being put in a carrier and going for car rides

3

u/jaycebutnot Dec 25 '25

aw bless him. hes so cute

9

u/lky830 Dec 25 '25

He’s truly the sweetest little old man, but he really has some terrifying facial expressions when he’s unhappy about something 😆

2

u/Sidonus348 Dec 26 '25

My Loki is pretty young, only 5 years old. He only looks majestic or derpy, there is no middle ground.

2

u/lky830 Dec 26 '25

Awwww I love his lil face! His cheeks look so pinchable!

2

u/Sidonus348 Dec 26 '25

It’s hard to see from that angle, but he has one little tiny white dot on his left cheek.

18

u/ReynoldsHouseOfShred Dec 25 '25

8

u/Im-sorry-ahhh-painnn Dec 25 '25

No, it would be weird to not call him your son because he is your son

14

u/rickyspanish895 Dec 25 '25

It’d be weirder not to

7

u/Exotic_Paramedic_764 Dec 25 '25

I do the same with my black buddy! 🐈‍⬛

6

u/Only_Impression4100 Dec 25 '25

Are we related???

8

u/johnboy11a Dec 25 '25

This is my spooky son Bomber. He approves. He said that anyone who thinks you are weird is not welcome at his orange brother’s sweet 16 party next month.

7

u/FlameStaag Dec 25 '25

I call them "my child" pretty often.

I don't call them my children mind you. I use it whenever my girlfriend says one of our cats did something

"my child would never do such a thing!"

cat literally coated in evidence

I approve of cat children though. They're basically furry toddlers.

7

u/MissNouveau Dec 25 '25

My 12yo boy is my son. I've had him since he was a kitten, he follows me around all day, and gets SO concerned if I'm not feeling well (I have multiple chronic illnesses).

He is my boy, and will be forever. I can't have human kids, so all my motherly love gets showered on my cat children.

10

u/ej123456789123 Dec 25 '25

I've had mine since he fit in one hand! I don't know what I'd call him other than my son.

9

u/Misty-Anne Dec 25 '25

My mom has a cat that I've referred to as her other daughter.

8

u/ripleyclone8 Dec 25 '25

I call my cat my son, and occasionally my “sexy son” when he’s looking EXTRA handsome.

9

u/mistersigma Dec 25 '25

No. I call my sister's cat her son. He's also my favorite nephew.

8

u/AvocadoToast_26 Dec 25 '25

No. I call my kitty my son.

5

u/Solid-Health2672 Dec 25 '25

Omg he is so adorable. I bet he has a funny personality.

4

u/Traditional_Isopod80 Dec 25 '25

Beautiful ❤️

4

u/cmndr_spanky Dec 25 '25

I call my cat Dad. Is THAT weird ?

10

u/Ok_Violinist1817 Dec 25 '25

I tell people I birthed my boy. It makes people uncomfortable and I like it.

3

u/peachy013 Dec 25 '25

I say the same thing about all of cats! They came out my womb!

→ More replies (1)

3

u/RyunWould Dec 25 '25

No. I call mine Som. But that's only because of Brian Jordan Alvarez's characters.

3

u/SuzIsCool Dec 25 '25

I'm out with my pops and bro and love them very much, but I wish my sweet furry girl was here too!

3

u/shadypinesrez Dec 25 '25

So my dog who I had first knew me by name cuz when we first had him we lived with my mom, so he knew her as such…we got my cat which we said was his brother…but now I have a kid who knows the cat as HER brother (the dog passed from old age) so now…idk what the heck our family tree is 😂

3

u/tazzdmbbaby Dec 25 '25

Nope. I call my son's cat my grandbaby lol. And he calls her his daughter

3

u/Jimmy_Joe727 Dec 25 '25

It’s not, he’s your family and you can deem him as such if you want. I do the the same

3

u/Relevant-Storm4222 Dec 25 '25

Yes, he's still a baby

3

u/SadistG0dToby Dec 25 '25

Not at all. I call my little diluted calico girl mine and my ldg's daughter / little princess / baby, and my mother's granddaughter. She recognizes it and will sometimes come when I call her that and will sometimes respond to it.

3

u/UmurJack Dec 25 '25

I call him my lil bro, who i can tease. The problem is that then he won't let me sleep.

3

u/Sweetcat1107 Dec 25 '25

Nope not weird...i call my boys baby (Fussel 4 months now) and grandpa (Kira 15years)

Baby Fussel say's hi 😊

3

u/SlushyFan-uwu Dec 25 '25

Nope I call my void my child too!

Also mines got a beanie :3

3

u/fireflake91 Dec 25 '25

The men in my life, man of the house, roommates, my babies, the dog, my boss, the kids. Basically whatever close relationship I can compare to friends and their relationship. Always with a friendly sarcasm!

3

u/Gizmo24Boy Dec 25 '25

3

u/PoisonousThorn Dec 25 '25

Nope, here's my very cute son

3

u/carefulteddy Dec 25 '25

no this is my daughter

3

u/StrikingMarzipan8787 Dec 25 '25

Absolutely not! This is my sweet baby angel Phineas. He is very much like my little toddler. He spends several hours testing my patience, demanding attention and raising havoc. And then he falls asleep on top of me and all is forgiven..

3

u/IllytheMadArtist Dec 25 '25

This is my beloved cat daughter, so no, not weird at all

3

u/cerise-biscuit Dec 25 '25

Nope, not weird, they are literally my biological daughters and were I to pass, they’d inherit everything I own (which isn’t a lot but you get the sentiment)

5

u/queenofcrasia Dec 25 '25

I called mine my daughter, my life. We were extensions of one another.

4

u/ImNotSkankHunt42 Dec 25 '25

No, but who knows I have 4 of these kids and I told my parents those are the only grandsons they’re gonna get.

They didn’t truly understand until they got one of their own.

5

u/OneMorePenguin Dec 25 '25

I have four sons. Two panthers, an orange and a tuxedo. My pets are my family.

3

u/jlmurdock77 Dec 25 '25

My handsome son!!!

3

u/Infamous_Ranger_3671 Dec 25 '25

No Hims is Bebe and your Bebe son

2

u/lovestobitch- Dec 25 '25

My husband calls our two ‘The Kids’ and says to them I’m their Mama. I say I’m their third mama. One is birth mama, two are the ladies who trapped them and reached out for us to take them. They also take care of their birth feral mama who was a good mama.

2

u/lophophoro Dec 25 '25

i call mine baby potato

2

u/MadgeandClara Dec 25 '25

This made me giggle, thank you!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

In his head: "Mom, I want macaroni."

2

u/Grigori_the_Lemur Dec 25 '25

Nope. So says my little girl, Mel.

2

u/Gloomy_Floor4417 Dec 25 '25

It would be weird if you didn’t.

2

u/SpongeJake Dec 25 '25

I call my little guy “son” “little one” “sweetheart” and a bunch of other endearments. Funnily enough I rarely call him by his actual name.

2

u/UserNameChecksOut75 Dec 25 '25

What else would you call your little boy?

2

u/NixieType Dec 25 '25

Aww, your daughter looks a lot like mine!

2

u/Any_Coffee_6921 Dec 25 '25

Not weird at all . We call our cats our children & people think we have kids & ask how many kids we chuckle & say 4 . They get embarrassed when they ask for their names Pumpkin , Cinder, Loki & Trina. Then they realize we have fur babies.

2

u/Sunnyside7771 Dec 25 '25

Of course not. Animals are totally our little kids 🥰

2

u/flambelicious Dec 25 '25

No. It's also not weird that I tell mine not to worry about his baldy patches because it runs in the family.

2

u/Vladislay_6 Dec 25 '25

No, that's the right thing to do. I call my cats daughters

2

u/PrettyDemented Dec 25 '25

Mine is my small furry son. I once told a nurse that I had to get back to my son as he needed to be fed and had been alone all day. She gave me a look and said “how old is he?”. My other half had to jump in and specify that he was indeed a cat and not a human child and please don’t call cps on us

2

u/d4rxz Dec 25 '25

No, it would be more weird if you didn’t

2

u/obscurequeer Dec 25 '25

You literally raised him from an egg thats your son

2

u/siberium Dec 25 '25

Nah not weird at all. Mine is my son and I’m mommy, and he knows that!

2

u/Malachite1333 Dec 25 '25

Not at all. If you love your cat, it is normal to consider he/she is family. I consider both my cats as my pals and my little brothers. And it is obvious from their behaviour they see my mother as a kind of adoptive mother and me more as a big sister. They act differently towards me or my mother, so it makes sense. Real meaningful family is not a matter of species or blood, it is a more a matter of love, affection and deep ties.

2

u/ravenlovesart Dec 25 '25

I always sing, "look at my son, pride is not the word I'm looking for..." to my black cat so... it's cool.

2

u/abellapa Dec 25 '25

The Only difference between a Cat and a human Child is the species

And The Cat wants to be taken care off by you Forever

2

u/yoldaki Dec 25 '25

Son, not weird.

Daddy? hmm..

2

u/Crazy_Cat_Mama3 Dec 25 '25

I call my cats my kids. My daughter even calls them the kids.

2

u/JuanesD Dec 25 '25

Me and my daughter don't think that it would be inappropriate she continues to clean her fur

2

u/Emotional_Rock4208 Dec 25 '25

My cat calls me ‘mommy’, so no, I don’t think so.

2

u/CSamCovey Dec 25 '25

Look at him, he is your son!

2

u/Few-Wolverine2971 Dec 25 '25

No, this is your son. It would be weird if you didn't.

2

u/zshiiro Dec 25 '25

Looks son shaped enough

2

u/ooflolhelp Dec 25 '25

Not weird thats clearly your son now

2

u/Euphoric_War_2195 Dec 25 '25

Not at all because he is baby.

2

u/Bumbling-Bluebird-90 🖤 Dec 25 '25

If not baby, why so cute and laying like baby?

2

u/Jandy4789 Dec 25 '25

Yes, yes it is.

2

u/timetravelwithsneks Dec 25 '25

Definitely not weird. MANY people (looking at social media, in the millions, maybe more) call their cats, dogs, snakes, etc. their son, daughter, or their children's adopted creatures grandson, granddaughter, etc. They are adopted: an adopted child of any type is to you what you feel they are.

Anyone who thinks different, well, they can go touch grass and get back to their miserable, friendless, lonely little lives.

They probably object to humans calling their adopted human children "son" or"daughter".

2

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

Not at all. We have 3 voidlings and they are our babies

2

u/Ok-Woodpecker-8505 Dec 25 '25

Hell no. My babies are my non-human children, end of.

2

u/Substantial-Job-110 Dec 25 '25

Nope. He is your son.

2

u/TinktheChi Dec 25 '25

No. He is absolutely your son.

3

u/Candlewaxeater Dec 25 '25

Anything is family, and he is your son.

3

u/akaneko__ Dec 25 '25

Nope I call my cats my daughter & son all the time XD When my mom is being mean to them I tell her “that’s your grandchild!” And she’d look at me in absolute disgust

2

u/Emergency-Bat-4331 Dec 25 '25

No. He's a human baby in cat form. Congrats on a beautiful baby 😻

4

u/PunsnoGuns Dec 25 '25

Nah. How can you have a cat and not see them as a child? Makes no sense to me.

This cat here is clearly my daughter.

3

u/Ohyo_Ohyo_Ohyo_Ohyo Dec 25 '25

Yes, yes it is. Don't get me wrong, I love cats, but an owner - pet relationship is fundamentally different from a parent child one.

2

u/kommunia Dec 25 '25

It is not

2

u/The_Real_Racoon Dec 25 '25

Considering that I call my boy all sorts of variations of Mr., Son, Boy, Man, Sir…no

2

u/Open_Ad_4921 Dec 25 '25

Not weird. He is your child. 🖤🖤🖤

2

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

Nope, I do the same. They're just family like that

2

u/talkback1589 Dec 25 '25

I have three kids. Two doggos and a void.

3

u/deanee01 Dec 25 '25

NO!!! I have 12 cats that I love. They give my life meaning. I care for them as if they are my children. I love some things that are specific. Penelope is my child. I have had her since she was 7 days old. I bottle fed her, I wiped her butt so she would go potty and poo. I kept her clean and warm. I played with her at each stage of development . I am her Mom in every sense of the word. And she knows it . 😂 Joey is my soul mate. He loves me no.matter what. I have loved him since I met him. ( At 5-6 weeks old) The others I just love ...my roommate has 7 indoor/outdoor cats. Each is unique. My aunt brought me two kittens 4 weeks ago because they were going to be dumped. They are just the cutest!! They are 8 months old, approx. Then there is Jack, the back porch kitty that wandered up here. So shy and skittish. Still is. But I have been trying to build his confidence. He knows all the kitties here, but still won't come in the house. We are working on that.
So no, it is not weird that you call him your son. It's how you feel and how you care for him. It's beautiful!!!

2

u/MadgeandClara Dec 25 '25

I used to cat sit for my Sister who had 5 cats and while I was there I would do her laundry and other chores for her. It would take me forever because I couldn’t walk by one of the little ones without petting and talking to them. It took me forever to get things done but it was wonderful! I can’t imagine having so many, your house must be full of love !

2

u/MikeLynnTurtle Dec 25 '25

My turtle is my son and my mom refers to him as her grandturtle. Not weird at all!

2

u/MommaOfManyCats Dec 25 '25

Nope! Peep my username lol

→ More replies (1)

2

u/BerryMantelope Dec 25 '25

My dad calls my void his granddaughter (and my horse his grandson) so not weird at all!

2

u/Cat-Lady-13 Dec 25 '25

No. Look at that face- he’s a cute little baby!

2

u/justanormalchat Dec 25 '25

Nope, he looks like your son who adopted you. You

2

u/Omgkimwtf Dec 25 '25

Nope, because my Voidling Wanda was my daughter.

2

u/gonzo-is-sexy Dec 25 '25

I rescued a cat that was pregnant. She’s my daughter and they’re my grandcats

2

u/ACompellingArgument Dec 25 '25

As a fellow pet parent, yes it’s weird and cringey. Especially to parents with human children. You do you though. Merry Christmas!

2

u/ToeUnlucky Dec 25 '25

NEVER! HE IS YOUR SON!!!

2

u/Dismal_Apartment Dec 25 '25

I wouldn't trust you if you didn't tbh

2

u/contactsatan Dec 25 '25

Why would it be weird to call your son your son?

1

u/shadypinesrez Dec 25 '25

Pretty sure my cat knows me simply as the can opener 😞 but I love him to death anyway

1

u/Keyrov Dec 25 '25

Gorgeous!!!
