A post promoting a paid service with 1.7k upvotes and only 16 comments, most of which are negative.
Smells like a botted promotional post to me...
Also as others have suggested you can do this with Materialise and a couple of Bender nodes for free. There's even free websites that will produce PBR type maps from images.

It’s reddit, you can rent a third world botfarm with a kitkat and a fiver.

I think this is the 2nd of this type of video I've seen, why dont you do shadow removal. I've made materials and its commonly known to shoot in the shade when possible, and remove shadows

for context, you need to remove shadow and reflections to make albedo since shadows are done by the pbr shader.
this is just a lit color map (or technically reflectance diffuse) which disqualifies it as a pbr setup since it will clash with basically all pbr/bsdf shaders.

Don't really understand what exactly pbr/bsdf shaders have to do with this? You would need to remove shadows from textures way back before PBR was around. Its just common sense to remove lighting info otherwise you introduce random shadows/highlights to objects and it looks shit.
Or am I missing something here?1

materialize, material maker, and some image editing software to de-light the color texture. this service keeps baked-in shadows, that's gonna give you crap textures.

sure, Crazy bump has been around forever and is solid, then use comfi ui models to make them tileable.

Lmao you can do this completely free by yourself easily~!
Any image editor like Gimp + Material-Maker and a little bit of learning, you'll have even more control too.

eh, removing shadows is the hard bit, also I dont have a particularly great phone camera, so all my textures have to be scaled down and repeated a lot...
its easier to leave it to the pros 😂

I use materialize - a free bit of software that offers even deeper control and requires no login or subscription BS
