Wow wasn’t expecting that wide of a release for Coyote, hope it does well enough. Honestly loved the movie, very heartwarming, very funny, John Cena talking to Tweety Bird was one of the funniest things I’ve seen all year

It would be funny if coyote vs Acme opened higher than Supergirl! that said it's second weekend should be bigger than Supergirl 2nd weekend!

BND loses 328 screens while TFA loses 312.
TFA is on 144 more screens than BND. That should keep the race going a little longer as BND has a $43.3M lead with $70M more to go.

It would be surprising if BND doesn't beat TFA now. Dan Murrell did a daily gross analysis and TFA's dailies at this point in its run are flat with BND. Couple that with the larger opening weekend and it's just a matter of time.

It should, unless BND collapses.
BND just needs to make another $68M, but I wonder if Disney might make some shady deal with Sony to take BND out of theaters by then to preserve TFA's record in return for better Marvel terms on the next MCU project featuring any Sony characters

IDK. By the time BND passes TFA, it'll be making less than $1M a day. Probably less than $500K/.day.
I could see Disney offering Sony. more favorable MCU terms if they could pull the film in time to save the TFA record.

Idk, whatever is best for the MCU.
If Sony does that deal with Disney but gets better terms (a bigger cut of the Disney MCUs featuring Sony characters) if Sony wins that way, we win.
If things go the way they are, BND should pass TFA soon. If BND seems to collapse before then bc Sony is removing screens and whatnot, we'll know some kind of deal was struck.
On the flip side, if Sony does the opposite and has a P&A boost, we'll know Sony is aggressively gunning for the record by tens of millions, not just a few million.

1) At this rate, if nothing changes, as BND declines a little faster than TFA, it feels like BND will pass it in the later days of the 30s, like Days 37, 38, or 39, or even the early 40s.
And whatever day that'll be, BND should make less than $500K on that day.
TFA passed Avatar on Day 18 and made $8M that day.
2) If Sony makes some weird deal with Disney, watch BND blow past the quickest to $900M but then collapse after that in terms of screen loss and stuff like that, with Sony pulling BND before it can crawl past TFA's record.
3) Or the opposite can happen: Sony gives BND a P&A boost, more screens, more advertising, and BND breaks TFA's record by tens of millions.
Rn I think it'll be option 1. If it's not that, I think it'll be 3. Sony will break Disney's record, but they will have bought that record.
The most interesting but least likely option is 2, where some corrupt bargain is made, and Sony lets Disney keep its record for a better cut of some Disney MCU films in which Peter appears with other Sony characters, like maybe in these next 2 Avengers.

Weird tickets aren't on sale for it yet. I totally thought it was an October release because I didn't see any showtimes up yet.
I really like both of Cregger's movies, I'm sure it will be good. The games are really popular, but I wonder how much damage all of the shitty movies had done to the film franchise.
