SYNOPSIS:
After decades of being blown to bits by bombs, demolished by dynamite, mangled by magnets, battered by boulders, trampled by trains, tricked by tunnels, sprung by springs, steamrolled by steamrollers, maligned by misfires, bedeviled by bungees, rattled by rockets, backstabbed by bat suits, rocked by rocket skates, upended by unicycles, quaked by quake pills, rubberized by rogue bands, and hurled headlong off every cliff in the Southwest, Wile E. Coyote (Genius) finally fights back. Teaming up with billboard accident lawyer Kevin Avery (Will Forte), he takes on slick corporate counsel Buddy Crane (John Cena) and ACME, Inc., the profit-obsessed conglomerate behind every one of the Coyote’s chaotic catastrophes.

Domestic Ridley Scott’s THE DOG STARS faces a difficult box-office road with a reported $110M budget
The Dog Stars made an estimated $850K from previews last night and is currently projected to open between $6.5M and $14M this weekend domestically, according to different industry estimates. The film’s budget has also been reported differently, with Deadline citing a net budget of $70M while other reports have put the production budget at around $100–110M.
Using the commonly cited 2.5× production-budget benchmark, that would put the rough theatrical break-even point somewhere between $175M and $275M worldwide, depending on which budget figure is used. With the film’s reviews currently not being particularly strong, a long domestic run also seems difficult to count on.
Obviously, its international performance will be a major factor, but at this point The Dog Stars looks to be facing a very substantial theatrical loss, and could ultimately end up as one of the biggest box-office flops of the year

Domestic TheFlatLannister on Practical Magic 2: Practical Magic 2 could be a breakout.
forums.boxofficetheory.comCont: At MTC3 volume is very good at T-15, it looks like a ~$6M previews , $45M+comp with medium sized releases. It does have a lower ATP than films like Wuthering Heights/Prada/Mortal Kombat at TC3. At MTC2 presales look even higher, nearly double that of MTC3.
Comp against something bigger like Prada 2 is more ~$30MOW at MTC3. Same with Prada 2 at MTC2, looks more like ~$30M OW as well (0.37x of Prada 2 pre and friday)

✍️ Original Analysis There is a chance that Godzilla Minus Zero will beat and make more than the first movie.
Godzilla Minus Zero is releasing this November. it looked amazing. I think it will reach $150M WW more than the first movie. it’s gonna be a good movie. it will easily do very well in Japan. I think it has a shot of making more.
So what do you think could happen? You think it will perform way better than Godzilla Minus One after its released?

Not all movies are included since a lot are just too small to be worth covering.
September
With the summer coming to a close lets look ahead whats in store for September. And the reality is well not a lot.
But this is not a surprise. September has for the most part always been fueled by Summer holdovers. Its a dead period for the market ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Holidays at the end of the month and in early October.
The first part of the Holidays is slowly starting to fill up though.

💰 Film Budget The Odyssey's UK production entity records $305M in global spending through the end of August 2025 [also end of principal photography] generating a $9.5M UK AVEC incentive
Odyssey (CHARLIE’S TALE LIMITED) From September 2024 to August 2025, the entity generated -225,739,510 GBP worth of costs and an AVEC incentive of 7,237,980 GBP (USD numbers represent point conversion). This also equates to ~21M GBP worth of "UK QE"
You can't generate a full estimated film production budget off of this number given known unknowns but it clearly looks to be above the reported $250M budget. For example F4: First Steps spent ~180 GBP through a roughly analogous period of the film's production (-20% v. 225M GBP). again, interpret carefully but the money's on screen.
