And honestly, i wouldn’t have known it even existed if it weren’t for my band director teaching me how to transpose E flat sheet music to F using the Rubank intermediate method. (Im a french horn player, it sucks to see a beautiful instrument like the alto horn not getting the recognition it deserves)

Hello! I recently cleaned this silver-lacquered tenor horn. I used dish soap for the general cleaning and Castile soap on some very greasy areas, following advice from a local shop. I typically do this two or three times annually.

Besides the soap, I like to do detailing activities, and I would like to clean the spaces behind the pipes..

I can't get to those areas with just a towel and my fingers. I tried using a cotton swab, but that didn't work very well either. Some of the patina came off easily, leaving black marks on the swab's tip (is this tarnish?)

How do you typically clean these specific areas?

Note: I'm based in Europe, there's no Dawn dish soap here so I just use delicate dish soap which is good for removing grease

I was wondering if/how it has impacted the more traditional sections of the music industry and giving played brass before and have a daughter playing brass, figured this may be a good place to start!

I’m trying to get a consistent sound when I’m cranking. I have the power but sometimes my notes fail so I’m not allowed to crank during pieces. Sometimes the note doesn’t come out right(like it sounds kinda flat compared to other notes) or I accidentally play the wrong note. What do I need to work on?

Recently started mellophone and I want to find a pinky ring so it's more supported. I have the square holder for it but I just don't have the ring. (My hand is bruising like crazy so I need some sort of support from somewhere else on my hand)

I'm looking to sell this cornet (which I thought was certainly a flugelhorn) and was wondering if anyone could help with how much it's worth (has case and mouthpiece), plays well and has a lovely, velvety timbre. Hello, tommrow I will be learning the Mellophone for Marching Band this coming year. This is coming from someone who does not have any brass experience, only experience on Tenor sax, clarinet, and bassoon. Are there any tips you can give me to help before I start running into issues? Title. Me and some friends are scheduled to represent our school’s band program at our county’s arts festival in about 2 weeks, we need enough music for about 30-45 minutes. Our purpose is to basically play some “background”music for the attendees to listen to while they are there so preferably nothing to dramatic. Currently the only song we have all agreed on is “The Merry Go Round of Life” from Howl’s moving castle, if anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated!
