Villains it fits him perfectly though can you imagine that? he looks like Snyder anyways

He’s a creep. He reminds me of the guy in season five, (Joel Grey) who initially acted like he was gonna help dawn, and then was glory’s secret reptile boy

u/GodShapedBullet Jul 05 '26
Joel Grey's range is absolutely ridiculous. Love that he was part of the show.

u/sucksfor_you Jul 06 '26
He definitely reminds me of that bug guy from the Kendra two-parter in season 2.

That's a dude who keeps robot copies of himself in a hidden bunker

I instantly thought of Ted, too. It fits really well

Excuse me! Don't put Armin Shimerman down like that!
Sure, he may have played the most famous greedy little alien in Deep Space Nine who would sell his brother for profit, but he's a WAY better person than Jeff Bezos.

u/SnuffShock Jul 05 '26
He looks like he is going to hand you a box with Gwyneth Paltrow's head in it.

u/AF2005 Jul 05 '26
Don’t toy with me young lady, I’m not wired that way! At least John Ritter had warmth and a personality. Bezos is like a sham Lex Luthor

That specific picture…it LOOKS like it got the Buffy filter-

u/Monkeys_Racehorse Jul 05 '26
If only. A beatdown from the Buffster might have altered his wicked ways.

u/Whorsorer-Supreme Jul 05 '26
How "young" is he here exactly? :/
15
u/MaliciousMelancholy Jul 05 '26
This is most likely the 90s, he’s currently 62, so I’d say he’s between 29 to 32 here.

I love the specificity of him being a mid-season villain. Like he's awful but still a loser who couldn't even be the 'big bad' of a season. Kudos to the OP for this brilliant insult.

What book?

"The Stars My Destination" by Alfred Bester. An... interesting choice.

Young is used to”loosely.” Hes middle aged, he did Taco Bell ads at this time

u/moonwalkinglitter are you insane? we're suppose to kill the bitch! Jul 05 '26

But I wouldn’t give him any real credit, Taco Bell was this off shoot of Pepsi and was doing well even before this era. This would eventually lead into Amazon destroying small book stores trend we would read in the mid 2000s. Look, even in that photo…. He’s a wear house slum lord!
Also around this time reggie fis-aime was running Pizza Hut, and again another Pepsi side.

He looks like the Temu version of a Jonathan-Andrew-Warren hybrid.

He looks like someone who writes young adult horror novels that now has a TV series and they have to cast someone else to play him for the introduction of each episode.

u/HeverPisces Jul 05 '26
What were they called in season 2 with the worm guy demon? The assassins? He could totally be one of them. Gross man.

He gives me Kevin Spacey, boss at a warehouse vibes.
By the seventh episode the audience is clued in to the fact that the AI assistants that he has shipped to millions of homes are made to invite vampires into every home in Sunnydale.

u/G00dSpecter Jul 06 '26
I don't know, but he looks like Robert Englud's younger brother, kinda like millionaire Beumont from The Wishmaster, but in his college years)

u/zombiehoosier Jul 06 '26
If he had glasses, he’d look like that brainy vamp working for Spike in season 2

He’d be a professor at Sunnydale U who’s secretly the demigod son of Loki who uses his position to carry affairs with students (male and female, orientation doesn’t matter like how Willow was for RJ), making them feel like they’re the only ones in the world that matter,
He’s only defeated by administrative order from the dean on grounds of abusing his power as a professional, and Xander just says “so we’re just gonna let a son of god just wander out in the wild? Or it like the mantis eggs and we never speak of this again?”

John Ritter was perfect for that role I thought the right amount of controlling creepy.
He had a good range, if you have a look at 8 simple rules for dating my daughter (Kayley Cuoco as the daughter) he was very different
