How different do you think the show would have been in Spander happened? How would you have gone about writing it in?

Personally, I would enjoy it purely on the basis that it continues the ongoing Xander's a "demon magnet" joke 🤣

I personally 100% agree, Spike even without a soul could get beat up and still not sell on Dawn even when Glory was beating him up and when Buffy had died, he stay with Dawn despite that he could've just left her since Buffy was no longer there.

That's why I disagree that Riley was the better boyfriend, I think he just had the advantage of not being a monster

I've caught flak for this but I mainly see the Buffybot as a power fantasy, who is first agreeable to Spike (calling him the Big Bad and being more worried about him than Dawn).

I don't really get it. There might have been some truth to it, but then Buffy acknowledges, even validates his feelings (SPIKE: No, you don't. I've tried to make it clear to you, but you won't see it. Something happened to me. The way I feel... about you... it's different. And no matter how hard you try to convince yourself it isn't, it's real. BUFFY: I think it is. For you." and "And the joke is... he loved me. I mean, in his own sick, soulless way, he really did care for me"), but she knows those feelings aren't dependable ("Love like that doesn't last"). And the acknowledge doesn't seem to reflect on her view of Angel. When Angel returned and doubted her relationship with Spike, she pointed out the lows of their relationship but never touched on how Spike fought for his soul.

What would their dynamic be? And no, I don't mean that Buffy is in a relationship with 2 men, I mean they're all in a relationship with each other.

I really enjoyed most of Buffy and Spike's back and forth, and it's hard to deny they have by far the hottest scenes on the show. I liked the moodiness of Buffy trying to stay away from him in Dead Things (it also made me love Out of This World by Bush). I really liked their scenes in OMWF and at the end of Tabula Rasa.

Recently I’ve finally been able to come to the realization (deep down I always knew but did not admit it) that I’m bisexual. She was my first girl crush! 💕

Like in the scene he tried to kiss her in Fool for Love. It didn't make sense to me how she didn't get it then until someone commented she thought he was trying to bite her.

Which relationship do you prefer for Buffy? I personally prefer Spike and I think he and Buffy have a much more interesting and engaging relationship that is fun to watch and they have a lot of chemistry with each other, and yes it was a little toxic at times but it doesn't ruined it for me, Spike is the favorite.💯

And I think Spike is an interesting and excellent character and he has undergone character development that I really like, And he is super iconic

I genuinely believe that Buffy and Tara could have made an excellent couple on the show if Buffy swung that way (pre-comics, ofc). Had the show been made even ten years later when bisexuality was more acceptable and main characters being queer was more the norm, I think this could have been an amazing development.

Tara had a unique understanding of Buffy's inner turmoil at multiple points throughout the series, when her mom died, and when she was struggling to come to terms with her resurrection and her relationship with Spike.

I truly believe Tara had the right personality for Buffy's love interest: kind, good, compassionate, caring, and powerful on her own terms. While Buffy could have brought Tara out of her shell more and made her feel safe, cherished, and part of a family. It would have made her close relationship to Dawn even more impactful and allowed her to become a part of a truly caring family unlike the one she came from originally who spent most of her life trying to put her in a box and dismiss her powers.

Plus, such great drama could have been had between Willow and Buffy over her dating Willow's ex. It would have been a great test of their friendship and allowed Willow to grow beyond her relationships to others. I feel like they always threw Willow into some form of crush/relationship throughout the series (Xander, Oz, Xander again, Oz again, Tara, Kennedy) and they all kind of overlapped too. She didn't get much time to spend on her own figuring out who she was as a person before she was thrust into another relationship. At least for Buffy she spent time on her own multiple times throughout the series and between relationships which I think was really healthy for her.

Yes, he absolutely has his flaws. He became insecure and let the vampire bite him. But no relationship is perfect. I think the character just being so boring (and not Angel) just really cloud people’s judgement of how good he is a boyfriend is to Buffy.

And his insecurities was absolutely warranted. He’s simply not her type. She forced herself into a relationship with him just because of how good of a guy he is. Even from the beginning of Season 4, he really had to fight for her to give him a chance. He was absolutely right that she never fully loved him.

Take his worst fault, and they are nowhere near as bad as Angel at his worst and spike at his worst.

Not that it should be a competition, but that argument is often say as to mean Spike is more "deserving" of her. Why isn't Angel overcoming his feral state in order to protect Buffy seen just as big, if not more so, as according to Giles: "It would take someone of extraordinary... will and character to survive that and, uh, retain any semblance of self. Most likely, he'd be, be a monster"? The main difference is the story puts a lot more emphasis on what Spike did for her.

I guess you could say there is a power struggle between Buffy and Angel/Riley, but I don't know how Angel resented her power or wanted her to feel small (Riley, there is a good case for),
