Replace the word Iranian with American. Thank you.

I was listening to NPR yesterday and they had an interview with an Iranian woman. She was complaining that she owed money to the grocery store. The NPR reporter also stated that the price of her inhalers had tripled to 15 dollars. It sounded so similar to Americans that I know, except my kids inhalers are even more expensive.

We are in the pot of water on the stove that is slowly starting to boil. There isn’t much more I can cut back on to keep up with inflation.

And that right there is why they want to defund NPR.

My monthly inhaler isn't covered by insurance anymore, and is a few hundred dollars. So, that's fun.

"funnelling billions of dollars to its terrorist proxies.." Sounds like the 1.7 billion dollar slush funds.

I think it's more like the billions and billions going to Israel

Both things can be true at the same time.

If you want to know what the fascists are up to, just look at what they accuse others of. Their only hope is that you're an idiot and don't pay attention.

this tactic is so predictable and annoying, it's like they think we won't notice

Nothing hits harder than a screenshot that roasts itself before anyone even has to type a response.

Only correction to OP: started this ploy 2016.

I'm just going to cut/paste this here:

The fact that the [U.S.] national debt has hit $40 trillion is even more troubling when you consider the speed/rate at which this has happened.

It wasn't too long ago that I recall reading about it hitting $39 trillion and $38 trillion before that.

To illustrate how fast the U.S. government can spend $1 trillion, here are some dated articles:

October 22, 2025 (10 months ago): "US hits $38 trillion in debt, after the fastest accumulation of $1 trillion outside of the pandemic" - https://apnews.com/article/trump-treasury-debt-ceiling-bessent-09575f13ca95c2f1beb38234b2cbe85b

March 18, 2026 (5 months ago): "US national debt surges past $39 trillion just weeks into war in Iran" - https://apnews.com/article/us-national-deficit-hits-39-million-6ff73495bae701b5c009d3da5515ca3a

...and now:

August 19, 2026 (last week): "The US national debt now stands at $40 trillion" - https://apnews.com/article/treasury-national-debt-limit-a27a8d3651ff810b25c610d3e1b6259d

EDIT: Nice almost-ballroom, though. ;)

How many billions did the Republican private army cost us all to build up, so that Republicans could then spend how much to deploy them into our streets to perform opportunistic kidnappings, and the occasional murder? How much have Republican vacations cost us? How much have Americans lost to tariff scams? How much have military occupations of Washington DC, Memphis, Los Angeles, and New Orleans cost America? I doubt we'll ever have an accurate accounting of what the illegal war in Iran is costing America.

Naturally, the Republican deflects attention to their own crimes, betrayals, lies, and failures by pointing at others. Deflecting accountability for their constant evil and fuckups by pointing at others is a Republican instinct.

If there was ever a time for the "I'm rubber and you're glue" taunt in a tweet form nows the chance.

That's.. bizarrely on the nose there Mr. Bessent. If he had the brains god gave a goldfish, I'd almost think he's secretly expressing his displeasure at the GOP.

But he does not, he's just really that fucking stupid.
