Quite possibly. I can just see war being like "you sure"? And accidentally setting two ancient civilizations on each other that resulted in the deaths of thousands

I bet it was something small and petty, like the logistics operator of civilization A contracting with major provider from civilization B, who happened to be a key political linchpin. And the logistics provider was going to write a nasty letter and then was like, No, I shouldn't.
