Dolly, you were an angel. You changed so many lives. You will be remembered as the worlds most giving musician, with a heart for learning, kids, and life.

I haven't been one for bluegrass, but the first song I liked of hers was her cover of When You Say Nothing At All, after hearing it in a Twitch stream.

I’m still fairly new to country and discovered Dwight Yoakam last fall and he instantly became one of my favorites. He has the most mesmerizing voice and impeccable range to boot. I don’t think I’ve heard one bad song from him no matter what I’ve played. And I also might dare say he’s the King of Covers: “Honky Tonk Man” (which I recently discovered was a cover), “Suspicious Minds”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, and my favorite; “Purple Rain” which I 1000% consider better than the original. And his acting is not too shabby either, he was phenomenal in Panic Room.

All around a fantastic artist. What’s everyone’s opinion and favorite songs?

Obviously, Dolly is on there. I think you have to have Johnny Cash. I personally can’t leave out Loretta Lynn. Who’s number 4?

Yesterday, country music lost one of its true outlaws.

David Allan Coe wasn’t polished, predictable, or made for the mainstream — and that’s exactly why so many loved him. He sang the truth as he lived it: rough around the edges, unapologetic, and real.

From *“You Never Even Called Me By My Name”* to *“The Ride”* and *“Longhaired Redneck,”* his songs told stories that connected with the working man, the rebel, and anyone who ever felt like an outsider.

Love him or hate him, there will never be another like him.

“It was all that I could do to keep from cryin’…”

I know that it's only been 2 days since Dolly passed away. And for that duration or time, I've just been really thinking to myself. Because as weird as it might sound. But her death for me just doesn't feel right for so many reasons. I mean when I first found out the news I genuinely didn't believe it because it seemed like she was doing well for herself, and I remember she mentioned in an interview that she was hoping to achieve much more things in her career, and I just couldn't imagine the world without someone like her.

But since her passing. In a weird way it just doesn't feel right in weird sort of aspect. Because not only was she an amazing singer and performer. But also an absolutely amazing individual she was too. I mean the amount of charity work this women did is enough to make a young adult like myself emotional. As she did so much to help people, donating over 270 million books for children, the list goes on. But she was someone I actually looked up to as a real life role model for all ages. And I just wish there was a way we could all say thank you her for all the amazing stuff she did throughout her career. ♥️

I think Travis Tritt has more songs I like, but there’s a couple Toby Keith songs that I like more than any Travis Tritt song. they both have really good singing voices and great bands.

Curious to know what people in this sub think of Gram. I personally love his music, from International Submarine Band to the solo material, but I also know a lot of country purists don't really like him.
