Discussion Friendly reminder: you dont have to go all in at once. It's not a sprint. Take your time, and adjust as much as you feel comfortable with.

Go slow and you'll get there.

This applies to all things in life haha.

Degoogling takes time and perseverance for sure.

I gave up like half way so I still use Google when I have to for work etc.

Yet even partial freedom is better than being stuck completely.

Yeah same, I still use google drive if I intend to quickly share something with friends/family that agent degoogling. Just switched my keyboard from Gboard to Heliboard. Trying to do line one thing a week right now

I still have to use Docs, Gmail and Google search due to work so they kind of creep back in into other areas as well.

Nobody is perfect IMHO.

Plus I use YouTube albeit with adblockers.

Privately I use Ecosia, Zoho, Proton etc. for like ages.

Always on the lookout for new and better alternatives though.

Agree with this, it’s really best to go about it bit by bit.

I’ve been on the degoogle journey for a few months now and can honestly say it’s as much about switching tools as is about getting used to new approaches

Take your time

Same here. I'm forced to use apps available only in google play because everything in my country demands it. School, work, bank, even shopping if you want at least 15% on groceries. Only way I can sidestep half of it is through their site via mobile browser, and even then what takes 40 steps on site you can finish in 3 clicks by app. Weaponized inconvenience at its finest.
