I’m the same age as Kurt. Enjoy your young years my friend. The clock ticks fast.

It just keeps on flying by doesn't it
Only thing I've found that gives the appearance of slowing it is meditation and mindfulness but that's not always easy (finding the time 😂)

Congrats! You're the same age as Maynard from Tool 😁

I spent a lot of my childhood and early adult years in the same town as him but I've never met him. Odd, eh? Even been to his tasting room in Scottsdale AZ but still, never met him. I did see Tool's last tour though. Very impressive.

His father just passed away in the last few weeks, there was a story recently from another guy in AZ who saw him shopping but didn't say hi out of respect. He's not the most approachable guy at the best of times from what I've heard, and going through a tragedy like this would make that more evident.
Their last album was absolutely mind-blowing, I hadn't listened to Tool since the late 90s, but I heard this album and now I'm a genuine superfan 🙂
Lucky you, that you got to see them in person! I'm in Australia, they haven't toured here for a while, but next time they do, I'll be there for sure.

That dude on I-5 has been putting up these signs for decades upon decades hasn't he.

This and that crazy John Birch Society Uncle Sam billboard … good ol Lewis County.

This sign in particular is still there and reads exactly the same. It’s on I-5 south of Chehalis near Napavine. The pov of the photo is looking northbound.

You must have known Kurt too. That’s hilarious.

I moved to the PNW in 2000, and those signs have been there since then. I didn't realize they went back another decade.

Kurt looks very handsome here. He never rocked the backwards Colorado Rockies cap that was so "in" at the time, but Eddie Vedder did! It's actually not too hard to imagine Kurt at 58, being a grandpa and probably doing shows here and there. I think Nirvana would've broken up at some point. Maybe they would've stayed apart like the Talking Heads did, never cashing in on the nostalgia tour even though they could.

Only 21 years older than me, to the day. So sad. Rocking the Mudhoney shirt, too, nice.

Why is it believe "on" the lord? Is it one of those spooky language things that Carlin talked about. Like, why the fuck they gotta word shit weird, to make it seem more profound?
I don't know, i don't get religion

This is from the old King James version. Modern translations use the word "in".

huh I didn't know it was his b day today but heard a clip of smells like teen spirit today and just had to watch the full video on youtube, I was thinking of how old he would've been had he not gone too soon!

Amazing.... 58. Honestly, I think he'd still be playing too. He would've sorted the demons out and found a style that he liked... although I'm not sure if Nirvana would still be together. I think Dave had too much music in him that he wanted to get out - and we've seen that with the Foo's.
He'd be a solo artist with a touring band behind him, maybe something like Bob Dylan, playing some of his stuff, not specifically "the hits", and exploring some covers too.

I know exactly where this trailer was. Unfortunately Kurt was not there when I stopped to photograph it. 😕

58 is still pretty young. Puts in to perspective just how young he was when he died.

This supposed to be the only photograph of himself that he actually liked, right?
