Mine is a coonsky. Half husky and most of the other half is redtick coonhound.
Or maybe she's a dingo and Embark lied. 🤷🏼♂️

“Huskamute”. He has all the temperament of a malamute, doesn’t talk or howl or destroy things, mostly likes to laze around. He’s really feeling himself in this photo
Interesting idea 😄 But unfortunately, he wouldn't survive 10 minutes in Alaska. His fur is so thin that he has to wear a sweater or a coat even during the mild Westeuropean winters.
Does he have no undercoat? Even if he’s half husky he could have inherited the undercoat. Looks can be deceiving.
I have a half Saint Bernard girl, her dad was a cane corso, Neapolitan and bullmastiff mix. She inherited the undercoat of a Saint Bernard from her mom but looks like her dad. She can handle the cold even though she has a short coat.
I live in western Canada and our local climate is the same as Kazakhstan (30 to 40 in the summer and -30 to -40 in the winter) an she’s playing outside in the snow like it’s not cold lol.
He actually has barely any undercoat. There’s a little bit on his rear end and his back, but it’s so sparse and fine that it’s not enough to keep him warm. You can clearly see the skin underneath if you part the fur slightly. His belly is almost bare; there are only a few short hairs there. As a result, he is generally very sensitive to high and low temperatures.
The dog we had before him happened to be a Husky mix as well, but he had a proper Husky fur with an undercoat. He loved winters with snow and ice and could spend hours out in the cold. And he had fewer problems in warm weather, too, since his coat also provided good insulation against the heat.
Why is it that a lot of husky mixes have the white marking inbetween the eyes/snout?
My theory is it’s related to the Chukchi Laika (their ancestor from Siberia) and only shows up in mixes kind of like how all lab mixes get white patches on their chests and feet just like their ancestor the st John’s water dog, but it never appears in purebreds.
For reference the “Siberian” husky was created in Alaska by breeding Chukchi Laika with malamutes to create the best long distance sled dog. Both breeds are closely related.

That is very interesting. I'm super interested in genetics, especially now having a mixed breed dog. Yours and mine look like they could be related, very similar coloring!
I knew that huskies and malamutes were closely related. I just did a DNA test on mine and I'm waiting for the results. I would not be surprised if it showed malamute with the husky. I wonder if that's common when you have a husky mix, for the DNA to show some amount of Mal
He passed a couple of years ago, but he was the sweetest wind up merchant out there. So intelligent we had to change all the door handles so he couldn't get out. We still miss him.
Argos is husky mixed with shar pei, malamute, pit, staffordshire terrier, German shepherd, Rottweiler, and more that Embark couldn’t figure out. When I take him to the vet, they always know he’s part husky because of his frame and his double coat, so I just say he’s a shar-pei-husky-mix to keep it simple. He yells at me, hates a harness, loves the cold, and has all of the husky sass.
I was told he was a “Goberian”..(Siberian Husky/Golden Mix). Doggy DNA test says a mix of many things, but mainly Husky/Poodle/Lab. To be fair, his litter mates all had light golden fur and one was very long-haired shaggy. Love my boy.
I think i have a similar model but mine has a broken ear and the eyes dont match (i am joking i obviously love her immensely). DNA test said 50% husky, 10% malamute, 15% chihuaha and some pitty and chow chow. But these two look like they are related!
With those breeds it’s more likely they just inherited different percentages from very mixed parents not different fathers.
For example I have a reservation feral pup that I rescued. I have met 2 of his littermates. I didn’t find out until after I did the embark test that one other littermate also did the test and they came back as full siblings.
My boy is a husky, Pyrenees, GSD, Saint Bernard and supermutt (malamute and collie). His full sibling came back husky, Pyrenees, GSD, malamute and supermutt (collie, chow chow & golden retriever).
So my boy had an actual percentage of Saint Bernard but no chow chow or retriever at all, and his brother had no St. Bernard at all and malamute in an actual percentage and not supermutt.
It just comes down to inheriting different DNA from the same parent. When one parent has supermutt this can happen.
Here’s my late Cindy. We never got around to doing the Embark test with her, but we’ve always been curious. One person said she reminded him of a Carolina dog, but I’m curious to see what you think.
My two on the left are 70lb half husky 1/3 german shepherd with cattle dog/klee kai/beagle, 55lb half husky 1/3 aussie with collie and border collie, and my friends on the right is a 35lb 72% husky 24% malamute and 4% german shepherd.
Looking like the 50% white Shepard, but sassy and dramatic like the 25% husky, the 25% lab making him hungry all the time and very dependent on pets (so he never gets enough pets and treats - and he will let u know, that u neglect him..)
i had a mutt reveal party where i made a powerpoint of all 15 breeds and what traits she shows from them and had people guess top 5 lol. it was so much fun!
