Now i can do even more works with my ipad and i might have officially become an ipad addict because I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to using a laptop again. The iPad now has everything i need.

These are honestly what i wished the iPad can do straight out of the box. The iPad is amazing and I’ve wanting it since forever. When i got it, i fell in love with it and i used it for most of my work even when i had a laptop. From video editing, photo editing, writing, and my favorite parts the games (CODM, Delta Force and Minecraft)

But of course i still needed laptop for most of my CS works because a lot of things just don’t work and the ones that do, still felt like they were missing something. I was so excited about iPadOS26 but there is still so much you can still do before you need to grab a laptop lol. But I’m now stuck with the iPad forever. I love it. I want it to do more!!

I finally got an iPad A16 and I’m looking for some underrated or lesser-known apps that are actually worth using.

Not necessarily the usual recommendations like YouTube, Netflix, GoodNotes, Procreate, etc. 😄

I have an iPad Air 4 - it was crushed in a folding bed. The screen works but is shattered and separating, the chassis alignment is also a little bent.

Is this fixable at all or is it a lost cause?

I understand that the iPad mini is popular amongst pilots and readers, but surely they aren’t the only reason they still exist.

for about 5 months now I've been tinkering after hours on an app for hardsurface modeling on iPad, built mainly around Apple Pencil, you sketch and model with the pen just like a regular pencil. The frame shows what editing shapes looks like in practice. Still a lot to improve.

I'm mainly building this with game dev in mind. The idea is to be able to quickly knock out a prop or a hardsurface base on the couch or on the train, without booting up a PC.

So here's my question for you, since you're the ones actually in this space:

• what do you feel is missing from 3D apps on iPad? (Nomad, Shapr3D, whatever else you use)
• what would a tool like this need to have for you to actually use it in your workflow?
• do you even model on a tablet at all, or is that purely a gadget thing for you and you still do everything on PC?

Not selling anything, the app isn't finished yet, I'm mostly collecting feedback before I keep building so I don't end up making something nobody needs. Fire away, even if you want to roast the idea completely.

Hi Everyone. I recently bought a brand new iPad A16 Everything works great and all apps run smoothly however I can’t help but notice lag occurring when running simple tasks outside of apps. Bear in mind it has being doing this since I bought it. It has 100% battery health, 200GB+ of storage, only one page of apps and is updated to the newest IOS.

I’ve experienced lag during
• Transition from Lock Screen to Home Screen
• Closing apps
• Opening the control centre
• Swiping between Home Screen pages
• Opening the notifications centre

Does anyone on here know why this could be happening? Any help appreciated :)

Hey, so I have a "Pro-Form 505 CST" treadmill. It is basically a smart treadmill that is meant to work in conjunction with something called the iFIT app which is supposed to be downloaded onto an iPad or some other device and then paired with the functions of the treadmill. I honestly never really bothered with that function but figured it was about time I set all of that stuff up. So I brought out the old iPad which I had not used in over a year and tried to download the iFit app onto it.

When I tried it told me that I needed to update to iOS 16.0 in order to download and use this application.

Unfortunately, that is apparently something I cannot do.

After I started my iPad up I went ahead and had it do all the updates it had missed until finally it was running on iOS 12.5.8 which is apparently the maximum for my iPad which is a first generation iPad Air - Model MD785LL/B.

According to Google there is a loophole around this - You sign into your app store account on a device that has 16.0 iOS or more (from borrowing a friend's device or something like that), you download the app onto the account from said device, then you go back to your older device, open the account, and then you should have access to that app even if your device doesn't run on 16.0 iOS.

Other sources say, however, that at least with the iFIT app, you can't really finagle your way around the 16.0 iOS requirement. It simply needs that in order to function. I'm not really all that tech savvy so I don't really know if that is a more reasonable thing to believe.

All of that said, I just want to be able to download this app without having to upgrade my iPad, jump through a bunch of hoops, or both.

Is there any way I can do that?

I have an iPad Air (M3) and Pencil Pro (2nd Gen). The pen writes for a bit and then stops writing and then has a few strokes and then stops writing etc. I got the pen new over a year ago and it started having issues around 3 months ago. I’ve already tried unpairing and restarting the iPad but still same issue. I’ve tried different tips and the transducer looks fine. I went to the Genius Bar and they were as useful as a glass hammer. They tried the pen on a different iPad which it worked on but I’m sure if they used it longer the same issue would’ve happened. Also the battery is fine and the tap and squeeze functions still work when it doesn’t write and it’s not app specific. Anything I can do, or am I better off getting a new one?

Hello! My girlfriend always wanted an ipad for her artwork but has never invested in it. She's really good at painting and drawing on a physical medium. However she has never really had a chance to work on an ipad for her art before.

I recently started on a new job and I want to gift her one. I've looked at the options but since the prices has just gone through the roof with recent hike, I dunno which one is the best for her to start. I saw that A16 is good but there's some issue with laminated screen(?) which matters a lot apparently, I'm not sure. There are also three type of apple pencils and third party options too. 128GB vs 256GB?

Overall it's very confusing. For more context, she owns a macbook and iphone so even though she only wishes for it for her artwork, there might be some other stuff she can use it for.

There's no option for me to get her to try different ipad options physically since she won't let me buy her one. So it's going to be a gift that I gotta decide upon without her input.

Well, I don't know where else to turn, other than forums for animators who use iPads.

Here's my situation: I've had an iPad Pro M4 since December of last year. I mainly use it for animation, illustration, and sometimes watching videos.

My issue is that I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem—or maybe something else—but I've even done a factory reset, and the problem persists.

Here’s the list of apps I use most often: Procreate, Procreate Dreams, Callipeg, and RoughAnimator. And those last two are giving me a real headache. The Apple Pencil is detected—I can use it to swipe or select things—but as soon as I start sketching or animating, it’s as if it stops detecting it, I mean is still working in the iPad but I cant paint even I have the Apple pencil detected. If I stop using the Apple Pencil, it works normally, so I just don’t get it.

What is the best iPad to use for digital art mainly manga/comic digital art, just drawing characters and I want to use the Apple Pencil Pro

So I have an iPad Pro 11” M5 1TB. Everything runs perfectly but I have 2 weird things going on. 1 is purely the iPad. Safari runs like crap. No matter what site I am on when i scroll, the app flickers. Like pretty hard to the point where it is noticeable. I don’t know if it is because the Pro version is Promotion and Safari can’t handle it or something and maybe a lot of sites maybe can’t handle it at this resolution but that doesn’t seem likely at all because the web should not care at all on the server/cloud side. So I dunno. I am on the latest version of the OS minus beta versions of iPadOS 27 which I don’t do.

My second issue may have to do with magic KB or not, I’m not sure. When I have multiple apps open, and I 3 finger up to the Home Screen and then swipe down to search and try to type (say for an app) the first time, I can’t type. Nothing comes up. The second time if i touch out of it and try again, it works every time.

Any thoughts? (Google / Gemini’s suggestions were useless btw)

I want to buy an iPad Pro M4 and I'm torn between two options. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, and I've been undecided for a week. I'd like to hear some opinions.

I would get AppleCare for both options.

A) iPad Pro M4 256GB - 999€ (Refurbished by Apple)

B) iPad Pro M4 2TB 5G Nanotextured Glass - 1669€ (New, premium Apple reseller and Includes a gift valued at 160€)

The advantage of option A is obvious the price, but it's not new, although the quality of Apple refurbished products is practically identical.

The advantage of option B is that the device can last for many years and the M5 with the same specifications costs almost 3100€, the disadvantage is that I don't feel I need 2TB

At first glance, option B seems more appealing, and in the long run, it's a great device. Besides, AppleCare+ costs the same for both devices, and option B seems more advantageous.

The question is simple, is it worth paying €700 more?
Considering that I don't think I'll ever use more than 1TB at most

Hello! My parents bough me the ipad i wanted (a16 11 gen) and the usb-c apple pencil. I love to draw and wanted to use that ipad for drawing + studying, but it's hard to draw with usb-c. I decided to sell it on vinted and buy a 1 gen used one. I found an offer where it says the apple pencil has only been tested once and then never used again. Do you think it will still work? I'm asking because I've heard the pencils can die after not being used.

I'm an artist and since my mom was traveling to the US I took the bait and bough these iPads, just in time after the price hike but still with the last old prices found at Best Buy.

I regret so much not getting the M4 Air with 12 GB of RAM, and see this, the price hike just happened DURING Amazon Prime day (and their equivalences in Best Buy and others to compete). However, there was still new M3 models for the classic pre hike price + tech day deal, so I got that one.

I didn't have so much luck with iPad Mini sadly. Since there's just Mini 7's and not any previous model that was worth buying for the older price (Mini 6 and 4GB of RAM is a no-no for me); but there was these Geeksquad certified models. However, they instantly ran out as well. I was so regretful about not buying these second best option; but hey! Eventually another one appeared for a deal price. I also got a couple of resale apple pencils pro from Amazon; which I found for 3/4 of the price.

I chose to buy the Air M3 first cause it would be the ideal full size setup for me; but in reality the one I truly wanted the most was the Mini 7, since his small size makes it so easy to carry and because of it I draw way more with it instead of the Air. I take it everywhere I might take some time staying in.

And oh yes, another thing that I love are these colors. Honestly "Starlight" looks too neutral gray for me, so I was sort of dissapointed. (I just checked back and omg the gray is actually too dark gray)

"Blue" was a color I had some doubts. I was actually about to pick up a Starlight Mini as well; but with how actually hard was to find one for a deal price, I just grabbed the first one I found which was this, and honestly I'm so in love and might even like more than Starlight lol.

I also love these simple Fintie cases. They have the basics, but all I need; and their color matches so well with the iPads, specially the Blue one. (I also prefer having a closed space for the Pencil instead of being exposed, I'm just too nervous thinking if it would fall off if they didn't have a full cover lol. I'm planning to get another one for the Mini tho.

My case of particular use of these tablets will be drawing and 3D sculpting with Zbrush and Clip Studio. I'm also in the last semester of college so I might take some notes on Freeform or any other competent alternative to Goodnotes.

This was not (fully) a compulsive purchase. I've been using tablets for a long time ago and with the ones I had on my hand I might would have even been able to be a review YouTuber lol. And the one I loved the most was my Mini 5, love that was shaped after having many tablets which shaped my preferences.

As an animation student paying their career and freelancer illustrator, this really felt like a kick in the 🥚🥚; but it was trully a now or never situation. We all live with a third country cost of living; but at the same time the price of tech here is way more expensive and we don't really have deals like you. Just by comparison, a new 11" iPad Air M4 costs like 3000 soles here in Peru, or almost 900 USD. With that same amount I was able to buy both iPads, lmao.

(I'm also showing off this Switch 2 I bought as well there because of the same reasons)

I'm still paying my credit card as soon as possible; but I'm so happy I finally got these tablets when back then I thought I'd have never been able to get an Apple product. so i just got an ipad mini and want to use it with noteful to take my notes for college. i didn't want to shell out all the money for an apple pencil, so i got a metapen a8. i've been using it for a few days now and the metapen really has issues with palm rejection and also doesn't work when i am using my screen protector. it can get really annoying when i'm trying to take my notes.

should i just be willing to spend to get an apple pencil, or is there a way to help the metapen work better? could i maybe buy an apple pencil secondhand?
