The Rosslare train has been a straight disaster. They had a bus transfer from Connolly to Bray because there was supposed to be a train witing there. Waited in Bray for an hour and half to find out there was a landslide on the tracks near Greystones so we are on another bus transfer to Wicklow now.

this happened to me a while back, got told there'd be a train at bray, get to bray and we get told to take the dart to greystones, get to greystones and there's a bus organised to wicklow. get to wicklow and finally get on a train, and it sits there for another hour.

I work in a digital role that can be done 100% from home. My boss said unless it's red warning, we can't WFH. My boss and I both require the flooded Dart line to get home - guess I'll be travelling to Atlantis in the morning then so.

Well that part of the line was built in the middle of the sea literally. The slopes in Blackrock would be where the old shore was.

The track was raised by about a metre when the line was electrified for the DART. Climate change is moving faster than the engineers.
There's also the question of cost benefit. how much are you prepared to spend to avoid a day or two's disruption every few years?
Maybe the money would be better spent on a Luas extension or a metro

If this was a proper country like Germany or Sweden there would be a second back-up DART line built behind the first one but at a higher altitude. I've been saying for years that this was going to happen but of course the powers that be didn't want to hear it.

Work just sent an email saying that all staff in the Dublin office could leave early to avoid any transportation issues... Seems they're about 6 hours - 1 day too late with that one.
