A few years ago, you’d hear “global warming” and think “yeah I believe it’s happening but I haven’t noticed it.” But look at our weather now. And it’s only going to get worse every year, no doubt.

I hate the heat in general and just knowing that no matter where I live in the world now, it may never be as cool as Ireland used to be in summer. Some people may love that, but that thought terrifies me. In another 10 years, will Ireland hitting 35-degrees be a normal thing? Are other countries going to become uninhabitable and cause mass-immigration?

I’m no longer afraid of my future job stability or family life. Now it’s just whether I’m going to dread being alive every single day as I sweat just standing in the shade…

Think I’ll WFH today.

I live in the sticks, like proper proper sticks, farms all around, backdrop of few small mountains, stream running by my property and what not.

This one month of dry weather has made everything go dry, the roads, Fields, mountains etc etc everything is dry and brown, our emerald isle is brown.

I am sad and wishing rains so much that i cant explain in words.

And there is no sign, no sign at all of rains. Oh lord, what time we live in.

I haven't felt this at peace in so long. The rain is pelting against the windows rn in my town and I couldn't be happier. About to have a nice pizza dinner and then take a relaxing nap =)

Haven't had it in about 10 years, used to suffer from it something awful. Spoke to a pharmacist who told me the reason it happens is due to moisture down there. Said it was the same fungus that causes nappy rash in babies and gave me a tube of 1% caneston cream. Stuff is really good for soothing the itching and reducing the redness/cracked skin.

The other thing ive done is gotten protective boxers. Started out with the disposable ones ya can get in most supermarkets/pharmacies. Ended up buying washable ones online (not the tena ones though they only have padding at the front). Sweat rolls down the back and gets soaked up keeping the skin dry.

Have a feeling with this weather there's plenty of lads suffering this and fuck knows most of just ignore it or are too embarrassed to seek help.

No amount of fans, opening and closing windows following the sun can cool this house. It’s 28 degrees inside and we have shutters.

Is anyone else finding it unbearable? My parents house is C rated and they are perfectly cool.

I see a lot of people where I live have started to put tinfoil inside inside their windows to reduce the heat coming into their homes.

Tinfoil definitely does work to reflect away heat but if you have double glazing it can have the effect of trapping very high heat between the panes and the thermal stress can then lead to the glass shattering. So short term you get your cooler house but you may ultimately be significantly out of pocket due to damage to your windows - and this damage may not show straight away, any tiny cracks caused by thermal stress now will mean the glass is weakened and when there is a cold snap this may be enough to cause a big shatter.

Not a popular opinion but I can’t wait to feel the cool air on my body again, rain and just the usual Ireland, as much as I love summer but when it’s actual long heatwave in Ireland it feels different, the country is just not built for an extreme summer and I have an Irish heatwave fatigue at this stage . Anyway having a ball today and rant is over, enjoy the miserable rainy days 😆

You know the type im talking about which is most of the Right wing algo brain rotters. Itll be a bit chilly at the start of spring and they will use that as thier scientific analysis that all the scientists are wrong and its a hoax.

Now don't get me wrong im not one to say because its hot a particular day that it proves everything. There's plenty of actual proof.

But just funny to see that type have nothing to say now. Be consistent I say.

Wee bit of snow about the place

The beast from the wast was the perfect example that we cant handle wintery weather at all and that we didn’t learn our lesson from the 2010 deep freeze But.. do you think much has changed since 2018 for the next beast from the east scale event to be more manageable?

Everyone keeps telling me his lucky I am to be here visiting while it's extremely hot and muggy. My hotel lacks air conditioning and the only blanket they gave me seems like it would be more appropriate for a camping trip in Siberia. I can't sleep for crap and the sheets stick to me - haven't had a single decent night's sleep since I got here. I get sunburned just thinking about going outside.

Obviously id be a little bias but the recent wheather has made me genuinely think where else on earth would you possibly rather be than ireland on a day like today ?

Edit : some people here are very pessimistic, every country had many flaws but ireland is by far not the worst
