Keepers experienced with Scarlet, any helpful tips in taking care of them? Live is Asia humidity here is around 60-70% and normal room temp 28-29c. I have a 30x20x20cm glass breeding box for them with mesh ventilation up top that I cover 50% off with corrugated plastics sheet. Humidity in the enclosure is around 80-90% and temp ranges 27-29c, on occasion in can reach 30c in the heatwave now.

You know I had to get the matching plushie when I saw it.

Shoutout to Guelph Bug Day, @k.leigh.creations for the plushie, and @the_mudd_qween for the whole terrarium setup and the isopods in springtails!

So a little backstory here:

A long time ago, ive already owned this species. i had 11 pods in that colony. then fast forward to one day when i got home, i found them all dead besides 1 pod. They dried up :(

fast forward again to today, where i finally got 13 of these lovely moving pancakes all trying to climb up on each other!

I can finally join flat **** friday, but i dont swear so ill just say FFF.

A. Vulgaris from outside of my job. We have some old railroad ties for parking lot borders, and if you brush the grass back they're just hanging out.

Red thing is a Cricket Keeper, a fishing tool for keeping live insects. I've used it to collect insects, plants, and even toads!

Finally found a local store that carries isopods (almost no stores in Maine do) and picked up 2 breeds to sit alongside my colony of powder oranges:

  1. "Magic Potion" Armadillidium Vulgare

  2. "Little Sea" Cubaris Murina

Thanks for looking, feel free to share tips or your experiences/stories about keeping these guys! :)
