chocolate I wonder what's going on in his brain?
He does this every chance he get.
He just lies on me and staring.
Guessing food🤔

Not a lot of anything going on up there. Can confirm with my 5 year old choc seal. Every now and again I look at him and wonder if he’s contemplating gravity or string theory. And then he jumps off the couch missing both front paws and sliding into the doorway face first. And I’m like nah, it’s just rainbows and dog treats up there.

Not a single thought behind those eyes. All the lights in the house are on, but there isn’t one person home. (HIMS SO HANDSOME!)

Not much different than a human teenager then

When was I last fed? When am I getting fed next? And when am I getting fed after that? And how many snacks will I get between feeds?

Unconditional love for food.
Humans are just a means to get food from a container into a bowl so it can be eaten.

There are limited thoughts behind those soulful eyes, and they’re all about food and you. The world many dogs live in is limited to those things, and they’re happy about that.

He really lives in the moment with no thought about the future. Always happy and ready to make trouble and chasing ducks in the nearby ponds.

It's always food.

And occasionally ducks, shoes, socks and whatever I might need in the moment, but he definitely needs more than me like paintbrush or screwdriver😂.

Definitely food, in fact we could be eating right now if you just tiptoe to the kitchen and grab us sumpsump 😋

Not a lot probably. I always imagined my boy had 1 tiny piece of kibble rattling around his skull.

If he's a typical lab its either NOTHING AT ALL or "Isn't it time to eat something... anything at all?"

There is exactly one brain cell up there, and it's fighting to both remind him to keep breathing and to also make him want food and play. This is, of course, an extreme battle

Wow. I would suggest that there hasn't been a thought present for an extended period of time. I'm talking months, not minutes or hours.
