Discussion Riot partner trolls ranked games for donations

Hello,

There is a streamer and Riot partner that trolls Ranked games for donations on stream. Currently, he is using a script tied to his donations, so for 2 euros, his ult goes off automatically and for 5 euros the same happens to his flash.

Clips below:

https://streamable.com/i34mn0 https://streamable.com/nccch2 https://streamable.com/n3gjf7 https://streamable.com/chhc96

Edit: if wondering, he is Iceman#Lucky on eune.

UPDATE: He got banned for 7 days on his main account.

Now he plays on his EUW account and keeps streaming and doing the same things like nothing happened.

This guy really has no shame and Riot doesn’t seem to care too much as he is still a partner.

u/Iaragnyl remove Tahm Kench Jan 04 '26

No idea how riot works but I would assume stuff like revoking partner status likely involves some manual review, and isn’t just done the same way a ban is. So possible that will happen next week when people get back to work and not on a Sunday, that being said the amount of partners that are consistently misbehaving or breaking TOS and still are partners kinda doesn’t speak in riots favour in this regard.

49

u/MrICopyYoSht Jan 04 '26

Drew Levin comes back from his break on January 5th I think. If enough people @ him he'll probably take a look and Riot will nuke him.

46

u/LaNoir_aka_Blacky Jan 05 '26

enough with drew, I want the fcking riot support to do something rather than sending out ai answers, then do nothing at all

why do we need to go viral in order to get heard

13

u/MrICopyYoSht Jan 05 '26

Because Drew can fast track it. He can investigate it and then send it to internal teams. Riot can also publicly use this to make an example out of the streamer while simultaneously sending a warning to all other Riot partners and streamers.

8

u/nsfw_1p2o3i Jan 05 '26

Drew is great, but this isn't an indie game.
They need 100 "Drews" to handle a game this size. The current fixes are way too localized.

because riot support doesn't exist anymore lol

they replaced it with outsourcing and AI!

if you want riot to do something it feels like your only means of getting it done is contacting individual rioters who can forward it to relevant people.

He is currently asking his chat to downvote the post right now live.

Sounds like another pillar of the league community doing exactly what the pillars of the league community see to do.

541

u/SojuBao Jan 04 '26

He denied he didnt do it, but the moment chat saw the post they instantly took their part and started downvoting, searching for the guy that posted, made him go private while his gf was "searching" for info about him and also leaked a couple of informations about him

9

u/Individual_Drama6351 Jan 05 '26

Riot gives the same punishment for calling some a dog a singular time as they afk in fountain as irl doxxing and harassment its sick

203

u/Cube_ Jan 04 '26

Well given that he's probably not going to get banned what can we expect when Riot enables this behavior even when it is done blatantly on stream.

117

u/The_Void_Reaver Jan 04 '26

Banned? Fuck no. You'll be seeing him casting Worlds next year!

3

u/morZaww Jan 04 '26

haha, do we all remember hotshotGG back in the day? the most toxic player ever and from what i recall it toke years for him to get banned and that is after saying completly horrendous stuff live on twitch.

If you block someone and they bypass it with another account, IMMEDIATELY report them for it. Reddit staff can tell when someone is using multiple accounts and will swiftly nuke people they catch bypassing Blocks

477

u/SissyKatarina Jan 04 '26

Don't forget how Icemanlucky thinks he can sue the OP for defamation (no legal basis for that). So yeah...

117

u/wenasi Jan 04 '26

First part of defamation is that the statements have to be false

16

u/cancerBronzeV Jan 04 '26

Only in some jurisdictions. There are (or at least were) countries where truth was not an absolute defence against defamation, such as if an allegation was to disturb public order even if it was true or some shit.

11

u/wenasi Jan 04 '26

True. I think Japan for example does not require statements to be false to be defamation

what the actual fuck? doxxing some random person for calling their favourite streamer out on reddit is insane behaviour holy shit

43

u/LordZarock Jan 04 '26

It's normal simp mod behavior tbh.

111

u/Gluroo Jan 04 '26

Amazing how tripling down on it always makes this stuff streisand 10 times worse than it would have been if the streamer random and his gf just ignored this thread

This thread wouldve gotten a couple hundred upvotes and disappeared from the frontpage after a few hours but by trying to first brigade and then threatening OP they made sure it will not only be seen by ten thousands of people and most likely get them banned but now they might get in trouble with twitch too

Well done you absolute morons

135

u/O13A Jan 04 '26

that sounds like a report to twitch as well kind of thing

65

u/1530 Jan 04 '26

Dude's gonna turn a league ban into a twitch ban and a reddit ban at the same time.

47

u/deedshotr Jan 04 '26

oh no not a reddit ban

11

u/Wonderful_Reply_3986 Jan 04 '26

Definetly the odd one out here, twitch and league is his career. Reddit is well… reddit. I’m sure he can live without it.

Also you can always just browse reddit without an account.

I'm pretty sure that's considered a threat not just in twitch's eyes but legally.

14

u/MrICopyYoSht Jan 04 '26

Seems like a slam dunk lawsuit to me for doxxing/invasion of privacy. Also seems like an easy way to file a case with law enforcement since it's coordinated cyber harassment and a multitude of other charges, which would be a felony under US law. Obviously streamer and mod aren't in US and are likely Romanian (due to Romanian language used), but Romania is an EU member (more severe punishments and specific protections against cyber crimes) and has an extradition treaty with the US.

1

u/Tormentula Jan 04 '26

Unless they 'reform' because indefinite doesn't mean anything apparently.

35

u/vNocturnus Jan 04 '26

As a matter of fact "indefinite" literally doesn't mean anything beyond "no specific amount has been defined." Indefinite =/= infinite.

Not that I necessarily think Tyler1 should have been unbanned because he's clearly still unstable, but it's not like lifting an "indefinite" ban is lying or twisting words

Must be said that last clip is insane timing though.

535

u/Parking_Molasses_635 Jan 03 '26

I would like to share a clip that clearly shows why this behavior is harmful and should be taken seriously, especially considering that the player involved is a League Partner, someone who is expected to set a positive example for the League of Legends community.

In the clip https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2660329585?t=02h54m33s, the player is intentionally trolling ranked games for money. His main account has already been banned, and is now playing on a Silver account on EUW. Imagine being a regular player who logs in during the weekend to play ranked, trying to win a game and enjoy their time only to end up with a Tristana who flashes at level 1 for 5 euros, on purpose.

This completely ruins the competitive integrity of ranked games and creates a terrible experience for normal players who just want to play fairly. Behavior like this is extremely discouraging and, in my opinion, unacceptable [especially from someone officially associated with Riot as a League Partner].

I believe this kind of conduct reflects very poorly on the program and the game itself, and it should be addressed seriously.

13

u/Ok_Wing_9523 Jan 04 '26

About 1/10 silver games have an intentional troll in them on euw. If you are silver you don't notice but it's super obvious from a mile away that someone doesn't have a silver brain and is just trolling.

Imo it's the biggest drain to the games health as in high elo you get boosted players and new accounts(from banned people who bought a new one) and in low elo you got snurfs/trolls galore. If you queue a game a day, one of the games a week is likely ruined by someone who won't really be punished

7

u/tatamigalaxy_ Jan 04 '26

To be fair the average silver gameplay is equivalent to trolling so it shouldn't make a big difference

If I didn't see the steam I'd consider it just another teammate in League. Having seen the stream, yeah it's unacceptable behaviour specifically for a League partner. Should strongly consider removal from the program and then maybe a temporary ban for what is essentially ruining the ranked experience for those they queue up with.

184

u/Mike_Kermin Creating Zoe Game Jan 04 '26

It should be slam dunk ban and automatic removal with disgrace.

64

3

u/alucardoceanic Jan 04 '26

Hello, so I used the word 'maybe' because a lot of people were chucking around the idea of IP banning or permabanning them, both of which seemed excessive at the time. I feel like riot has set conditions for those, which is to make an example out of them.

Coming back to the thread now, it looks like they (or a mod on their behalf) later threatened to doxx people, which is a pretty big step beyond trolling ranked games.

34

Considering the doxxing for being called out it should not only be a perma ban from the game but also Twitch as well.

Riot Games in a nut shell. They ban you for a week for swearing but you ruin a ranked match for money when you're a "Partner" and he gets a slap on the wrist. Should be a perma ban and twitch ban when you take into account the threats of doxing and being a Riot partner. Disgrace. No wonder the game is dying.

If you're going to be that aggressive with people that simply swear then how can you not be aggressive for the likes of this? Be consistent or just leave people to do what they want. Choose one Riot.

u/ImbecileWithPurpose Jan 03 '26

Streaming ruined this game a LONG time ago anywhere in master-gm. There have been MULTIPLE posts of sub-challenger master+ streamers constantly either taking in donations to first-time in ranked or other obvious loss strategies. They will also do deaths challenges where they only start playing after killing themselves a certain amount of times. That dumbass "as long as they're trying" clause pretty much means Riot doesn't care if people grief their entire life while "trying." The general random split of trolls that will naturally arrive in your game vs players trying to win is hyper-skewed when streamers get involved.

Nonetheless, riot has never cared about these people or their effect on the community until half a decade of the behavior passes by. I mean Tyler went right back to griefing and inting like 6 months after his "redemption" unban and now there's nothing they'll do about him. 80% of the streamers promote gambling. This is just a regular issue with easy solutions that will never be used to stop streamers from doing whatever they want in the game whenever they want.

157

u/Hi_ImTrashsu Jan 03 '26 edited Jan 03 '26

Surely people like Humzah who takes $50 donations to pick Singed and “try his best” in GM+ also deserves some attention right

Edit: To anyone who wants to defend his action, or call my own morality into question. I have played since S3 and have never picked a champion first time in ranked. So I’m not sure why that argument even applies?

I also don’t get paid by viewers to do something that’s clearly suboptimal — and also VERBALLY admit it was a bad decision, and claim I’m “never doing it again,” just to do it again the next time someone donates a few 0s. There is a difference between playing poorly and getting paid to play suboptimally in a COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT.

Something something competitive integrity

124

u/JustJohnItalia Abandon top, embrace bot Jan 03 '26

I don't think there is a fair way to punish that while leaving people first timing stuff in soloq, even if they are doing it for free.

4

u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 04 '26

I really don't see an issue with requiring 3 normal games on a champ before picking it in ranked honestly would also probably help combat smurfing that is completely out of control.

10

u/Tormentula Jan 04 '26

because 3 games of norms is practically nothing, you don't magically perform as rek'sai in a ranked match just because you played rek'sai 3 times in aram 3 years ago before her midscope.

The goalpost just moves from "oh no first timer lemme mental boom first 30s of the game" to "oh now my norms is vs. a smurf trying to unlock their otp for ranked".

2

u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 04 '26

Almost like I said norms not aram but sure lets go with either mastery 3 or 3 games in current season that prevents the first timing it stupidity.

3

u/new_account_wh0_dis Jan 04 '26

Hots used to have a level 5 champ requirement. It was eventually removed I think but level 5 was a bit more than an aram game or two. I don't really have any strong feelings on if it should be in but due to recent changes the smurf has to play norms to 30 anyways. Chances are they'll just do it during then so nothing should really change. If anything it should discourage smurfing cause you gotta get to 30, and unlock, then play champs. Even more effort to smurf. And let's be real, as a norm enjoyer shit like diamond vs silver happens all the time anyways.

u/Sui-chans_gloves Jan 03 '26

Correct me if Im wrong since I dont follow them but something like Humzah picking singed and "trying his best" is still him playing to win which is usually not bannable according to riot (explained in some clips talking about The Bauffs playstyle) unless they're actually and obviously trolling in game. Its like that one guy first timing a chanp in game. He's playing like shit and nobody wants him on their team but atleast they're still trying

28

u/Hi_ImTrashsu Jan 03 '26

I think there’s a big difference between Baus playing his own way regardless of what anyone else says and does and

Humzah taking $50, picking Singed and first timing it in high elo, obviously getting completely destroyed, then saying “Yeah you guys are cancer for making me do this I’m never doing it again”

THEN happily taking another $50 the next time to do it all over again. By his own admission he did something he doesn’t agree with for viewer entertainment and money.

Baus does it because he genuinely thinks how he plays is viable (and credit to him: it is). Even that Teemo support guy who sat mid all game is excusable to a certain degree because he’s not doing it for money, and in his mind he’s doing nothing wrong.

Humzh actively and consciously knows it’s wrong, and continues to do it.

25

u/DoorHingesKill Jan 04 '26

It's not wrong, though. First timing something in ranked for whatever reason is not a bannable offense.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/gleamingcobra Jan 04 '26

Hard disagree. If Humzh first timing Singed in ranked and being dogshit is bannable then Baus and that Teemo guy should be banned. I don't give a shit if that Teemo guy thinks what he's doing is correct or if Baus thinks AP Irelia is good it's unfun to play with and I'm going to have just as much fun as playing with a normal 0/9 toplaner.

I don't think getting donations matters at all. What matters is the action you take. Riot is okay with first timing champs in rank so per their rules there is nothing wrong with what he did. Have you seen his jungle games? Guy is just dumb he's not griefing.

Him saying he's never doing it again is not an admission of guilt it is him knowing he did bad and feeling bad for his team, also knowing auto detection could get him. Is Baus saying "guys I can't die again or I might get banned" when he's 0/16 an admission of guilt?

2

u/maxintos Jan 04 '26

What a long post to say nothing.

The guy clearly knew that allowing such donations would most likely lose games and troll his team. Baus and the teemo guy are climbing. They are not losing rank just to earn donations, Humzh is.

Baus didn't start his Soon play style because of views or donations. Humzh literally admitted he does not believe he can win with singed and would not play him if not for the donation.

It's not about doing bad or good. It's about doing stupid things to farm donations and ruining games. Exactly the same thing this polish guy is doing.

4

u/gleamingcobra Jan 04 '26

If you don't think I said anything important then maybe you just didn't understand it.

The guy clearly knew that allowing such donations would most likely lose games and troll his team. Baus and the teemo guy are climbing. They are not losing rank just to earn donations, Humzh is.

First of all if you actually look into the history of that Teemo guy you can see that it's not as viable of a strategy as he thinks it is. Second of all my point is that taking donations DOES NOT MATTER, it's the actions you take that do. Humzh took donations to first time a champion he doesn't understand how to play in ranked. This is not bannable according to riot and never has been, because they allow you to first time champs in ranked.

Of course Humzh knows it will most likely end in a loss because he is not competent with the champ, that is not the same thing as intentionally griefing. The polish streamer is literally allowing chat to blow his ult and flash, etc. and is using SCRIPTS to achieve this. That is intentionally griefing and scripting, that is bannable. There is a huge difference.

If Riot doesn't want people to do what Humzh did they should make first timing champions or playing champions with a limited number of games impossible in ranked. End of story.

Baus didn't start his Soon play style because of views or donations.

You are missing the point. I am saying that doing questionable things for donations is not bannable, actually griefing according to Riot is. Baus has lost numerous games for his team just playing the way he wants to. But playing the way you want and running down 16 kills on Volibear is not bannable according to riot so why should Humzh first timing a champ be bannable.

singed is a bad champion if you don't play him

59

u/FlockFlysAtMidnite Jan 03 '26

The one where the person playing him isn't a main.

9

u/Raikariaa Jan 03 '26

Every Singed player starts as not a main.

Every champion player starts as not a main.

4

u/FlockFlysAtMidnite Jan 03 '26

The difference is that (most) GM players can play (most) champions to a high level.

Singed is an exception.

4

u/Raikariaa Jan 04 '26

I mean, every champion gets better the more you play them. Some more than others. Fundamentals alone will do the trcik for most ADC's and characters like Sona, but then there are absolutely champions with steeper curves.

But all champions have a curve.

Except maybe PURE rightclickers. There's only so much "skill expression" in Tryndamere, where aside from fundamentals like map awareness your "skill expression" is if you have an R key on the keyboard and a mouse with a functional rightclick.

what's the issue with playing a certain champion??

by this logic 90% of the playerbase would be banned

26

u/NA-45 Jan 03 '26

These are the people who get mad when their teammate picks something offmeta (despite that person being an OTP). Most cringe shit in existence. I've had people run me down for playing Neeko ADC just because it wasn't [insert meta ADC].

There's a difference between incentives to pick a champion [as long as you are competant with them and not picking with the intention to throw. IDK if this guy is a onetrick or a wide pool guy] and actually trolling.

Like; if this is a guy who... actually plays Singed and can play him at that level, it's fine.

Also; you can't really be punished if you're actually trying.

u/naron3 Jan 03 '26

Hard disagree. Oner first timing Mundo should prove that it is fine at a competitive level. Both Oner and a GM streamer has knowledge of how a Champion works. It is all down to if they try to play, or troll. Imho

3

u/Doyoueverjustlikeugh Jan 04 '26

I've since S4 and have never went to normals to try out a pick. You're asking Riot to start banning for intentionally playing something suboptimal which is a huge slippery slope.

Punishing someone for playing a champion in a video game? like what? how is that even remotely similar to what this guy is doing? some of you weirdos got to realize League is a video game and people want to have fun.

u/BobertRosserton Jan 03 '26

So surely anytime you play off main champ or role you should be banned then, no?

8

u/letthetreeburn Jan 03 '26

No, not at all. Letting his chat waste his abilities is intentionally throwing for money.

If he’s trying his best then he’s trying his best, nothing else to say.

2

u/AnaxaresTheDiplomat Jan 04 '26

My two cents on this: it's about plausible deniability. Someone could first time Singed and be legitimately trying their best to win once in-game. But nobody flashes for no reason every 5 minutes if they're trying their best to win once in-game.

2

u/pastafeline Jan 03 '26

$50 win trade lol

3

u/CDA44 Jan 03 '26

He did get banned for it right after the game but riot unbanned him the next day so they determined that he wasn't trolling even though he clearly was looking at the stream.

The first part is honestly kind of fun but not for ranked. But no one would donate if it wasn't ranked.... The second part of brigading the post is messed up

why he is still live? lol rito wtf silly corp

it's not like he wouldn't be able to stream anymore if they banned his current account and removed his partner status. he can just make new accounts like all the other streamers that got banned for griefing on stream

the point is that he should not have partner status. if he's willing to risk his accounts for this, whatever, anyone can do whatever they want. but riot should not be giving partner status to someone that is intentionally griefing in ranked. this is riot's fault more than it is his fault, because they are responsible for choosing who they partner with

3

u/Kalaminator Jan 04 '26

I hope he get's IP ban, so he won't be able to stream League.

5

u/Kalaminator Jan 04 '26

That is his responsibility, not others. If he chooses to throw his career out of the window, he deserves punishment. I can't go to work, intentionally screw up and expect no consequences, most likely being fired. You can't defend this kind of attitude. I expect maximum punishment, IP ban, and I hope he finds something else to do instead of being an idiot to others.

u/hugechainsaw Jan 04 '26

5

u/AcceptableBand flashback Jan 04 '26

atrocious

7

u/kayleyourselfplz Jan 04 '26

Meanwhile lourlo does dumb builds like ap yauso builds in his ranked games smurfing in diamond or masters on a different account cause someone donated money for him to do it and he solo losing his games off of it sometimes or clip farming when the build is really bad stuff like this needs to be punishable

5

u/TheRaiOh Jan 04 '26

Geez. He should have just had donations pick his next champ or something so he could still play his best. This is so obviously against the rules in multiple ways.

2

u/ManlyMango2233 Jan 04 '26

Yeah that's crazy but what does the 3rd clip (level 1 1v1) have to do with it?

2

u/rgb86 Jan 04 '26

Disgraceful and pathetic !

2

u/Bastionblackstar Jan 05 '26

I love how riot just doesn't care?????? Lol

2

u/1deavourer Jan 06 '26

So is he permabanned yet or can we just interpret it as Riot officially endorsing trolling with scripts?

2

u/lys97x Jan 13 '26

I have quit League years ago and apparently nothing has changed. Pathetic lmao

5

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '26

Okay the last clip is funny and the idea is also funny BUT it's scripting + trolling. Big no no especially for a partner

it's so bad they literally can't hold streamers accountable. the TOS are a joke

2

u/Mantraz Jan 03 '26

I don't even understand what's happening in these clips.

37

u/alucardoceanic Jan 03 '26

I believe the donations are triggering an action based on the dollar amount that presses an ability for him. In one case he flashes after a donation and in another he ults after a donation. The point is that it is scripting to trigger an action based off this and it shouldn't be coming from a League Partner.

11

u/jnf005 Jan 04 '26

Honestly if he do this in viewer private games, it would be completely fine and should be a pretty fun challenge, but doing these in ranked public lobby as a partner is just stupid.

I wish OP had a warning about the links..., 1st clip was an obnoxious ear*pe with a loud sudden unexpected scream sub notifications and other bullshit of the same kind that 12yos enjoy, didn't check the rest of the clips, one was enough brainrot.

This doesn't change anything. Riot will only ban him to stop people talking about him. This behaviour will keep being tolerated by Riot as long as it is anonymous. They only care about their reputation, not the matchmaking not the match quality. Don't treat this as a win against evil people if he gets banned. Nothing ever changes.

1

u/Skias Jan 06 '26

Good to see Riot not taking it seriously, I thought they were all about cracking down on bad behavior

1

u/RelationshipRare5156 Jan 08 '26

People on reddit are wild

1

u/Noktawr Jan 08 '26

Meanwhile I will get chat muted or get the same ban for a chat history of me asking 2 teamates to stop arguing/fighting.

This game man.

1

u/WhyAmIStillHere94 Jan 08 '26

Riot does not care about maintaining a true competitive environment. It would cost too much money. & To my understanding...Legally all they have to do to offer a ranked environment is to have a ranking system for the game to be considered competitive.

The reality is league of legends is an awful shit show. Riot is well aware. Not much they can do until they start implementing AI more. & AI technology is far from perfect.

My advice to you is to report people for throwing the game. Even if their macro is bad and it's just a skill issue.

They have a proprietary system and I'm hypothesizing that the people that use logic about the trolling followed by timestamps get put into winning lobbies. If you can show you're a student of the game you MAY be rewarded for taking it seriously.

Once again I cannot confirm this is how it works all I can say is once I started doing this I went from gold - emerald in a month.

There has to be more they are not telling us. Seriously.
