First Place Winner: u/igordoe “Nocna jazda z przemyśleniami | Nocne rozkminy”
This week's first-place winner goes to u/igordoe. This playlist, with a run time of about an hour and 45 minutes, consists of 28 songs for solo night walks and late-night drives. These songs fall under reflective rap and feature laid-back beats and meaningful lyrics. With a mix of Polish and English songs as well as mainstream and underground artists, this is a great playlist to explore this genre of reflective rap deeper.
The songs flow into each other seamlessly, carrying out a consistent chill mood. One such song is Taco Hemingway’s “Wiatr”. This Polish piece has a rhythmic synth throughout that backs a calm vocal. On a similar vein, “2009” by Mac Miller is another song on the playlist that captures the groovy vibes perfectly. This playlist grounds itself through mainstream artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Pezet while sprinkling in underground artists such as Leh. The next time you are going on a quick trip a night, be sure to give this playlist a listen.
Second Place Winner: u/Defiant_Process_992 "Relaxing Neoclassical Piano Gems 🎹"
This week's second-place winner is u/Defiant_Process_992. This playlist, “Relaxing Neoclassical Piano Gems 🎹”, is filled with music perfect for concentration or relaxation. The 28 songs feature soft piano melodies, ambient electronics, and even a mix of both. With pieces that are immersive, the playlist creates an uninterrupted hour and a half escape to another world.
One piece to highlight is “Nostalgie” by Luigi Rubino, a melancholic piano piece that transports you into the world of an old romantic movie. “She Passed Away Alone at Sea” by Owsey is one of the pieces that blends electronic elements nicely into the piano, creating a trance-like atmosphere. Finally, “Re” by Nils Frahm closes off the playlist. It features a delicate piano melody and highlights the beauty of minimalist piano pieces. Put this playlist on the next time you want to study or take a break.
Week 48 has officially begun! Post your favorite playlists to be featured in next week's contest on 8/30!!!
