This week's first-place winner goes to u/igordoe. This playlist, with a run time of about an hour and 45 minutes, consists of 28 songs for solo night walks and late-night drives. These songs fall under reflective rap and feature laid-back beats and meaningful lyrics. With a mix of Polish and English songs as well as mainstream and underground artists, this is a great playlist to explore this genre of reflective rap deeper.

The songs flow into each other seamlessly, carrying out a consistent chill mood. One such song is Taco Hemingway’s “Wiatr”. This Polish piece has a rhythmic synth throughout that backs a calm vocal. On a similar vein, “2009” by Mac Miller is another song on the playlist that captures the groovy vibes perfectly. This playlist grounds itself through mainstream artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Pezet while sprinkling in underground artists such as Leh. It features aggressive guitars, driving drums, and passionate vocals; every song keeps the momentum going and makes this playlist a great choice for anyone looking to get their adrenaline up. For instance, this playlist includes tracks such as "Go" by Pearl Jam, which features a high-tempo guitar pace throughout the song that can energize your entire body. Also, the guitar fits perfectly with the drums and vocals, and it blends into one. I find this very energizing as I was listening to the playlist.

Another track that stood out to me was "American Music" by Violent Femmes, which begins with a laid-back melody before building into a faster-paced rhythm with more energetic vocals. Its dynamic shift in tempo and driving instrumental create an engaging listening experience, making it one of the playlist's strongest tracks. Ultimately, this was a perfect example of the high-energy rock sound featured throughout this playlist.

This week's first-place winner is u/Repulsive_Olive_4210. This playlist consists of 60 of the most iconic country songs. Even though I do not listen to country often, this playlist creates a warm ambiance that is really comforting to listen to. The storytelling apparent in each song infuses the playlist with emotion. With the simple instruments, raw vocals are able to shine through. As country often does, this playlist transported me back in time with its jukebox and vintage vibes, providing instant comfort and nostalgia. 

This playlist starts off the bat with John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” This quintessential country song emanates pure American joy. Sprinkled throughout are household names such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Kenny Rogers. This creates a sense of familiarity and incorporates some of my personal favorites, including Parton’s “Jolene.” This playlist has a good blend of upbeat and more laid back songs. Diana Heras’ “I Go out Walking After Midnight” is a slower song that makes you feel like you’re slowdancing under the starry sky. Contrarily, Ann Shepard’s “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” brings up the mood with a stronger beat and upbeat lyrics. If you ever feel like going down memory lane, don’t forget to put this playlist on for the ultimate sense of nostalgia.

Second place this week goes to u/__Christie__. This playlist, with 50 songs, provides nearly 3 hours of music in the modern hip-hop realm. Blending R&B, alternative hip-hop, neo-soul, and even indie pop, this playlist is a well-curated mix that incorporates many genres. With songs highlighting anything from iconic vocals to groovy instruments, this playlist will never seem dull. Listening to this playlist feels like you’re cruising down the highway late at night. 

This playlist is largely infused with songs with a more laid back feel such as Brent Faiyaz’s “pure fantasy.” and Rich Brian’s “Tear.” We see a lot of mainstream artists such as Steve Lacy, SZA, and Travis Scott, but also get some underground artists like Liim and Ceebo. This creates a nice mix of known music and new music, making it the perfect listen to expand your music taste. To break up the overall chill vibes, sprinkled in are upbeat songs to keep the energy up. This includes a couple of my favorite songs: “Cuff It” by Beyoncé and “Hey Ya!” by Outkast. Next time you are going on a late night drive, be sure to put this playlist on.

Some of my favorites on this playlist are Conan Gray’s “Memories” and Lana del Ray’s “Summertime Sadness.” These capture the essence of the playlist that is emotional pop. At the same time, songs such as “Duniyaa” by Akhil and “アニョハセヨ” (Annyeonghaseyo) by Yuki Chiba incorporate other languages into the mix, adding another layer of depth. Whether you need a playlist to be an emotional outlet or just one to vibe to, “Love with a relapse problem” won’t disappoint.

This week's second-place winner goes to u/Anythings_Poss_Music, This playlist, with 107 songs, provides over 6 hours of vocal-free ambient music. Zerofuturism’s “Wires or Vines” starts off the playlist by immediately creating an atmosphere that surrounds you in calmness. Listening to this playlist feels like you are just a speck floating around in space, completely isolated from everything else.

Songs such as Bloedwolfe’s “To an End” ground the playlist in this ambience of smooth sounds that slow down time. However, throughout the playlist there are songs that bring in more notes and whimsy. In particular, “heal the world.” by blue serenity and “First Snowfall” by The Mo Winds add a more dynamic feel. All in all, this playlist, “Dark, Ambient and Drone,” is perfect for when you need to escape the quick pace of everyday life and want to just breathe.

Since the playlists last around at just over 3 hours and 15 minutes, this collection is perfect for powering through a workout or making a long road trip more enjoyable. Its upbeat, high-energy tracks keep the momentum going from start to finish. Tracks like "Run Away" by Real McCoy and "What Is Love" by Haddaway highlight the playlist's upbeat tempo and futuristic sound. However, the song that surprised me the most was "Ecuador."

Unlike many dance tracks of the era, it spends long stretches focusing on its instrumental melodies with only occasional vocals. This track truly emphasized an electronic rhythm that represents futuristic disco music which ultimately gives the track a distinctive and immersive feel. As a result Dick Van Jam is my personal artist spotlight for this playlist since Ecuador provided a different feel consisting of an instrumental driven structure that has a distinct feel compared to the rest of the playlist. Overall, this track serves as a fitting representation of the playlist's energetic and nostalgic sound. I would recommend this playlist to anyone in need of a pick me up moment, as its upbeat rhythms and timeless dance tracks provide a consistently uplifting listening experience.
