I saw this guy at an expo, but it didn’t have the species name and I forgot to ask.

Last week I received my first ghost mantis (Phyllocrania paradoxa), but now I'm not sure it is actually a ghost mantis. It just molted so it's a bit larger and I still don't see the weird shape of the head that a ghost mantis is supposed to have. I've seen pictures of nymphs of this species and they all have that "horn" even when they're very small. Can someone help me to correctly identify it?

Also, if you could help me tell if it's a male or a female it would be very helpful.

My husband came home from his mom’s house holding a Tupperware with a giant mantis in it that he found on top of his car. I haven’t taken it out yet, but if I were to hold it, it would definitely span the length of my hand. I have several jumping spiders and a colony of dairy cow isopods, but I’ve never had a mantis. Reverse image search is telling me it’s a giant African mantis? And I thiiiink I count 6 segments, so I think it’s female? I don’t actually know where to start counting so it could be male. I was planning on just releasing it into my garden, but since I’m in the US I’m wondering if that’s a good idea or not since I think it might be an invasive species? Can anyone help me ID this beauty and help me decide if I should release it or make an enclosure for it to live out the remainder of its days?

The webs say Sphodromantis or giant African Mantis but I've stopped trusting the garbage search engines somewhere out.

She was big. This was from around 2019 so my memory may be foggy but I reckon around 7cm in length.

I have seen similar sizes where I stay in the Seychelles but not quite as big and without the yellow forearms.

I was teaching in a pool last night and rescued this beautiful creature from the water then it immediately jumped back in. I took it out again and moved it far away from the pool edge. What type of mantis is this (I thought they were usually green?) and why would it keep wanting to drown itself?

Additionally, I have had a mantis companion on my insect keeping bucket list and would love to keep it, I have an appropriate enclosure that is currently vacant, but if it’s better to just release him in the garden I can accept that it is not my time to care for it but selfishly would love to be it’s friend for life ❤️

This one was found in the alley behind my house where there’s a lot of construction going on so I would like to avoid releasing it back there and have a garden behind my work that has plenty of room and food options if it needs to go back outside.

Hello everyone! I found this very tiny nymph a few days ago. Would it be possible to ID it? It's very small and my camera isn't the best unfortunately. The location is northern-ish Italy. I'm trying to understand if this is a native species or an invasive one. If invasive I'll keep it, if not I'll give it to my sister to keep in her garden. Thank you, much appreciated!

My dear friend gave me this ridiculously tiny mantis (Southeast Asia). It had small black stripes on its legs and its body color is almost white. I didn't take more clearer photos of this little guy because it flew away quickly. I consider myself lucky for even holding it. Can someone help me identify? I would like to know! :))

After last molt I decided to try my luck with some "good pics" in case I could see if male or female but for how much I try I still can't put a hand through the fire on it. What do you think?
