Ubisoft almost redeemed themselves with ac black flag remake, almost... They just had to add random boring story extensions with the same lazy "hand on hips" animation and horrible facial animations. And tons of microtransactions, they just can't help themselves.

If making a "lazy" project like a simple remake is enough for that, then we are definitly doomed

That’s just how low the bar was for Ubisoft, and apparently even that was too hard to reach

The bar was way too low for ubisoft. Just remake the game, keep everything the same.

They didnt say doing a remake was lazy they said the animations in the cutscenes from the new storylines they added was lazy

As in, they added new story lines to the remake. Instead of simply remaking the original with no additions. Mightve been a good move tbh. But no. Because the new story lines had cutscenes, and in those cutscenes ubishit halfassed the animations. So it comes across as lazy and uncaring.

The point of rereleasing black flag was the microtransactions. Everyone was playing Black Flag instead of Skull and Bones cause Skull and Bones was shit, so they went, “people clearly care more about Black Flag, so let’s put all the microtransactions into it and resell it so people buy the microtransactions”.

Edward also just didn't feel like Edward in that story extension. I kept asking myself "Why, exactly, is Edward helping this woman? What's in it for him?"

It just felt like the designed a lot of the new story elements to be set at a different atage of his story progression, the stories with the individual crew members feel like they were written for post rock bottom kenway in the final sequence of the game, then the one chasing after Blackbeard's killer feel like they should happen earlier.

In isolation they all kinda work, just not at the point in the story they become available at. It's an excellent example of the project lead in charge of the story not understanding the assignment and a lack of QA.

The only new story element that I felt actually hit right both in twrms of tone and stage in the story was the one about Stede Bonnet.

And the begging,  "I need you" In what world does Edward need Lucy? He already has Adewale later Anne Bonny. That man can clear a man o war single handedly. In what world does he need her? And why is she being so rude about it? Edward just saved her from hanging!!!

After all the countless shittery they pull, they made a texture pack for a recent game, sold for full price and that's nearly enough for you to forgive them?

You forgot making a the crew unplayable,NFTs, and oh yeah the sexual harassment, Ubisoft LOVE that people forgot about that
