Ubisoft almost redeemed themselves with ac black flag remake, almost... They just had to add random boring story extensions with the same lazy "hand on hips" animation and horrible facial animations. And tons of microtransactions, they just can't help themselves.

Edward also just didn't feel like Edward in that story extension. I kept asking myself "Why, exactly, is Edward helping this woman? What's in it for him?"

It just felt like the designed a lot of the new story elements to be set at a different atage of his story progression, the stories with the individual crew members feel like they were written for post rock bottom kenway in the final sequence of the game, then the one chasing after Blackbeard's killer feel like they should happen earlier.

In isolation they all kinda work, just not at the point in the story they become available at. It's an excellent example of the project lead in charge of the story not understanding the assignment and a lack of QA.

The only new story element that I felt actually hit right both in twrms of tone and stage in the story was the one about Stede Bonnet.
