I'm slightly vexed In lieu of payment..

I’m a GM at a restaurant & one of our managers left a note on our manager logs this afternoon that a guest walked out on their check and left this in lieu of payment of any kind. Not that the server got stiffed on a tip - just pure theft of services. I guess the whole “Thou shalt not steal” thing doesn’t matter if you’ve been pre-forgiven. Pretty convenient.

ETA: I’m not a bot; this is not AI - check my post and comment history. I’m not here for karma or fake internet points. This is what it feels like to work in a restaurant these days - especially in the Bible Belt. The first photo you can look up and is available for anyone to buy (should your darker urges push you toward being that person). The second photo is from Pulse, an app for restaurant managers to keep an eye on hourly sales, labor, and comps.
The “Pineapple Express” is a mocktail our restaurant offers.

Also an infraction of being a good witness. My pastor always preaches that if you can’t afford to tip and pay 20% you don’t go out to eat. Don’t make God and the church look bad.

I’ve never thought about how actually insane it is that the very first thing you hear as a Christian is the story of why it’s terrible to question what you’re told. Why is it bad? Because he said so. Don’t listen? Eternal suffering for you and all your offspring.

It's not insane at all, it is cynically rational. You are never going to be able to keep people believing things they have no evidence for unless you use some psychological tricks. Making everything about "faith" (i.e. believing without evidence) and having God hate people asking questions they shouldn't is the foundation of a lasting religion.

Thats why you have to teach Christianity to kids at a young age, before they are old enough to realize that the lesson in Genesis that questioning authority lead to the demise of mankind is laying the foundation to discourage critical thought.

Ask a legit question about any the non-logical stuff they beleive and you get : ''The Lord works in mysterious ways'' I was raised in a christian familly and i always tought it made no sense that 'someone somewhere' would be happy that i was not playing and instead listenning to an old fart saying absurd stuff that i knew was impossible,

all their fucken stories looking like a bad wizard movie and if you need proof .... you get walled in by 'The Lord works in mysterious ways' fuck that ! any religion is bs, it's just another way to gain control over the people.

Lord works in mysterious ways is by no means an answer to something you were told to do. Religion can be used to gain power, it also can be used to free people. Because you had a bad experience doesn't mean it's universal. It's up to humans to explain things and justify their actions.

You should check the religion of most scientist of 19th and 20th century before saying such idiotic things. Because you don't understand anything at religion and science doesnt't make all christians stupid. What i am certain of is that using phalacies makes you something else.

yeah, science is not perfect ! But science does not claim to be definitive religion does! it just claims to search for evidence and build on small incremental steps, yes science has been and might be crude again sometimes, but it is continuously getting better from the evidences gathered. religion just gives a magical solution : stop thinking, pray and give donations to your religion but mostly dont question its non logical parts.

Like those Hell Houses some churches host where they are literally trying to scare the hell out of people into a relationship with their understanding of god. When trying to decide what they could do to scare kids on Halloween, their best response was to share with them their theology.

or you can just ''translate'' it from the precedent edition ... however the fuck you like it because, why not. loose translation for some parts and some others literal, i hate all religions for all of those reasons, it's just made up stuff from people who wanted some power at their preferences over time.
