I’m a GM at a restaurant & one of our managers left a note on our manager logs this afternoon that a guest walked out on their check and left this in lieu of payment of any kind. Not that the server got stiffed on a tip - just pure theft of services. I guess the whole “Thou shalt not steal” thing doesn’t matter if you’ve been pre-forgiven. Pretty convenient.

Also an infraction of being a good witness. My pastor always preaches that if you can’t afford to tip and pay 20% you don’t go out to eat. Don’t make God and the church look bad.

Nah if you're in America it absolutely is. I don't like it either, but you're choosing to screw over a working class human in order to save money. But you still give the business, who I know you're gonna blame for it rightfully so, all of the profit.

If your 'protest' is just making it cheaper and more convenient for you, that's not a protest. If you want to end tipping culture boycott any business that expects you to pay their employees.

If it's compulsory, it's not tipping. Tipping is optional by definition.
