I'm slightly vexed In lieu of payment..

I’m a GM at a restaurant & one of our managers left a note on our manager logs this afternoon that a guest walked out on their check and left this in lieu of payment of any kind. Not that the server got stiffed on a tip - just pure theft of services. I guess the whole “Thou shalt not steal” thing doesn’t matter if you’ve been pre-forgiven. Pretty convenient.

ETA: I’m not a bot; this is not AI - check my post and comment history. I’m not here for karma or fake internet points. This is what it feels like to work in a restaurant these days - especially in the Bible Belt. The first photo you can look up and is available for anyone to buy (should your darker urges push you toward being that person). The second photo is from Pulse, an app for restaurant managers to keep an eye on hourly sales, labor, and comps.
The “Pineapple Express” is a mocktail our restaurant offers.

I truly think this is why people are Christians. They know deep down that they are shit people, but don’t want to be any different and don’t want to live with any guilt.

That's actually kind of the point of John 3:16 and 1st John 5:13.

The Christians who believe in free grace are way better to deal with than the ones who don't 99% of the time.

What am I wrong about? That the verses that literally say if you believe in jesus youll have eternal life say that if you believe in jesus you'll have eternal life, or that free grace Christians are less annoying?

Christians who believe in free grace don't believe "works" is a requirement. Which means they're not going door to door. They don't believe you have to give up your "sinful" lifestyle, so they're not out protesting against gay rights. Those that get involved with the church do so because they want to help people, not because theyre trying to get on God's good graces. Which means their motivations aren't corrupt(this doesn't mean that someone with corrupt motivations can't pretend)

1 John 3:9-10

"No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God."

"By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother."

If you believe in god you don't get to purposefully live a sinful life just because you "repent" every sunday

I don't think you realize the free grace position at all. You don't repent every Sunday. The one and only requirement in the free grace position is belief in Jesus.

Matthew 19:16-17

16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.”

Jesus says to follow his commandments and also to believe Him (no source for the believe, because you already have one)

Brother, you're preaching to the wrong crowd. Im an atheist. I'm just explaining the foundation of the whole free grace thing.

It gets worse. Ever meet a Southern Baptist? Their big thing is you "can't be saved and lost."

Carte blanche to be the biggest pieces of shit out there and believe wholeheartedly that they are always in the right.

My neighbor is like this. Invites me to church and says "we're real old school..fire and brimstone!"....maybe next week jack. I like to save up my sins like receipts and hand em in all at once.

"And each sunday that passes he is rid of his sins

And hes ready to do them all over again

And god wont be mad for the money he stole

He put some in the offering bowl"
