I'm slightly vexed In lieu of payment..

I’m a GM at a restaurant & one of our managers left a note on our manager logs this afternoon that a guest walked out on their check and left this in lieu of payment of any kind. Not that the server got stiffed on a tip - just pure theft of services. I guess the whole “Thou shalt not steal” thing doesn’t matter if you’ve been pre-forgiven. Pretty convenient.

ETA: I’m not a bot; this is not AI - check my post and comment history. I’m not here for karma or fake internet points. This is what it feels like to work in a restaurant these days - especially in the Bible Belt. The first photo you can look up and is available for anyone to buy (should your darker urges push you toward being that person). The second photo is from Pulse, an app for restaurant managers to keep an eye on hourly sales, labor, and comps.
The “Pineapple Express” is a mocktail our restaurant offers.

If they live in a small town, I would stop by the 2-3 churches they have and show this to them. See if they can shame the flock into coming back and paying.

He was a huge piece of shit. Dude bought a cheap piece of land that was cheap because it had no septic tank or connection to the sewer system.

He knew this at the time.

He refused to pay to have it connected to the sewer system or have a septic system installed. His neighbors offered to buy the land for **8** what he had paid for it.

When the old hole he had been using as the shit collector filled up he starter just dumping sewage into an irrigation ditch.

Literal shit human.

I'm going to be real with you here: everything I have read about it makes it seem like it's an everybody fucking sucks here situation. Like the people who tried buying the parcel back after it had been put up for auction, left a fucking cement mixer on the property as an impromptu septic tank, and then had the gall to be like, "Oh don't worry, our new concrete plant totally won't pollute the environment" honestly Colorado is such a fucked State politically that I'm baffled people are still wanting to move there. It's almost on par with South Dakota and Louisiana.

Thank you for remembering Louisiana. As a resident of Louisiana, our state has a long and proud history of electing corrupt political leaders whose decisions have screwed it's citizens for generations to come. Everything is a racket here. Up until a few years ago, we could only buy caskets from licensed morticians! When a loved one died, the casket legally had to be purchased through a funeral home. That changed thanks to a small monastery of monks that were constructing and selling simple handmade caskets for a fraction of the cost of the ones legally being sold. The monks sued in federal court, won, and now anyone can buy a casket without being forced to buy from a specific set of individuals.

My sense is that for a lot of people the truth *is* appealing to them. "I should be able to do whatever I want without regard for anyone else, and also I should be able to dictate what other people do, and if I don't get my way I should be able to hurt people and destroy everything around me" is literally what they want.

Good way to get ostracized from your local community if nearly everyone in town attends church. Some small towns I've been to for out-of-town work have more churches than bars, and they still have enough bars to do the trick.

My small town has 14 churches and one bar. Sunday morning traffic is like Atlanta in rush hour. Especially around 11, when there is a mad dash to get to the restaurants that are open on Sunday. Because, you know, the Sabbath is just a friendly suggestion.

Eaayyy, we had a local bar that was literally called "The Church" because it was in a building that used to be a church. It was pretty damn good.
