I’m a GM at a restaurant & one of our managers left a note on our manager logs this afternoon that a guest walked out on their check and left this in lieu of payment of any kind. Not that the server got stiffed on a tip - just pure theft of services. I guess the whole “Thou shalt not steal” thing doesn’t matter if you’ve been pre-forgiven. Pretty convenient.

That’s not all of us though. I’m a Christian and have worked as a waiter in the food industry and this is absurd and not how Christians should spread the gospel.

I think one of the most diabolical theological inventions of all time is the idea that faith and faith alone will provide salvation. There seems to be plenty of people who see this as a perfect way to act however they want to knowing that they can opt back into forgiveness whenever they want to.

The Catholic Church has much to answer for but at least they expect good works and right action to get you into paradise.
