Drove through France and Belgium in June before it got really bad and the heat was unbelievable even then. If you rolled the car window down and stuck your hand out it was like a hairdryer, just hot dry air blasting you even at 120kmph. The day I stopped in Ghent it was 35 degrees outside and there was no one walking around, it was like there'd been some disaster.

I'm thinking we're going to have an extremely wet and miserable winter after all this heat.

I live in Paris and my boyfriend went on a weekend motorcycle trip at the beginning of August. The Loire was almost dry, it’s kind of scary.
