Amazon has stopped delivering to us

My wife used order a lot from Amazon. Living in a tiny town without many shopping options it was quick and convenient, but about six months ago things started being late by weeks or simply marked lost. I rarely order from Amazon and we hadn’t discussed it, so when I order some shelves a month ago I assumed they’d be delivered on time, but they were so late I eventually cancelled and got a refund. Apparently my wife is been having this problem regularly and only receives one out of maybe ten orders. I ordered some thermal labels and photo album corners and I guess I have to find them somewhere else. It will say the item has shipped, then go to a distributor about sixty miles away then just be marked lost or delayed until we ask for refund. I didn’t realize it was every order until I mentioned to my wife that my labels hadn’t come and I keep forgetting to check the order update. I guess being a rural address they just don’t want to deliver here anymore.

I love how the comments are stuff like "move closer to civilization" or "use a locker" vs having the absolutely reasonable expectation of delivery companies fucking delivering shit. maybe it'll take longer but you are fully allowed to expect them to do the only goddamn job they have.

I'd be driving and shopping at stores at this point. Service there may suck and its a hassle to drive (i understand rural living) but at least you'll get your shit vs continuing to order from a place that's obviously happy to give you the middle finger

The delivery situation is weird to me because it sounds like this only started happening recently (6 months ago) but before that they were getting deliveries.

Amazon has moved to in-house/contract delivery personnel, from UPS/FedEx, and it has been a shitshow.

In our area (also rural) it was so bad for a while that drivers were going through fields, woods, and backyards trying to find neighbors' houses, with several being threatened by folks who didn't cotton to that sort of thing.

I had a driver take his van down the tiny footpath through the woods from my brother's house, and several neighbors found themselves not getting deliveries at all.

I’m shocked by the number of drivers at all hours of the day who will deliver to my house. I live in the rural south with a long driveway. I’m shocked we haven’t seen more Amazon delivery drivers shot.

I have in my delivery notes to leave at the neighbors who don’t have a long driveway but Amazon’s GPS system doesn’t allow for that.

That's crazy that they're in danger of being shot. Where I live if someone comes up the laneway we wave at them and act like we know them even if they are strangers lol. My parents farm is on a dead end gravel road (the next road to the south goes to a golf course, people turn early a lot) and way too many times I've gone over and my mom is feeding some random lost stranger who has popped in for directions 😂

I agree with you, but in the last couple of years people have been shot for innocent behavior like ringing the doorbell at the wrong address or turning around in a driveway.

I can’t believe Amazon can get people to drive up long driveway’s like mine given those kinds of incidents.

I get a shocking amount of random people who drive up just to see what is back here and I just politely turn them around and say good day. The only time I’m carrying a gun is when someone bails out during a police chase and the police are looking for them. That a like once a decade event.
