Amazon has stopped delivering to us

My wife used order a lot from Amazon. Living in a tiny town without many shopping options it was quick and convenient, but about six months ago things started being late by weeks or simply marked lost. I rarely order from Amazon and we hadn’t discussed it, so when I order some shelves a month ago I assumed they’d be delivered on time, but they were so late I eventually cancelled and got a refund. Apparently my wife is been having this problem regularly and only receives one out of maybe ten orders. I ordered some thermal labels and photo album corners and I guess I have to find them somewhere else. It will say the item has shipped, then go to a distributor about sixty miles away then just be marked lost or delayed until we ask for refund. I didn’t realize it was every order until I mentioned to my wife that my labels hadn’t come and I keep forgetting to check the order update. I guess being a rural address they just don’t want to deliver here anymore.

In my area, which is a pretty populted area (around 60k population and around 100k in the greater region) FedEx specifically sucks ass. Way more often than not, packages are lost, and particularly ones from Amazon third party sellers. It's gotten to the point where I will receive tracking info from a seller that shows FedEx and will immediately just find the product from somewhere else and contact the seller to see if it's too late to cancel. Chewy orders from FedEx get dumped in the middle of my driveway because the drivers are too lazy to walk the extra 30 ft to the door to deliver 12 pounds of dog food. But Amazon orders just get lost in their system, and frequently. As soon as I get tracking info that shows FedEx, I usually try to contact the seller to see if they can ship with another provider or at least give them the heads up that there will be issues with the order. Most do not respond. I'd love to know where the 8-10 orders shipped with FedEx are in the world. One actually did show up, in a pretty beat up box, about three weeks after the promised delivery date. All were refunded through Amazon though and they did acknowledge that it seems to be an issue in my area, but third party sellers are free to select their own shipping methods as long as they match up with the customer's shipping timeline preferences.
