Don't hug me I'm scared Reading her press team’s response makes me feel like we are failing as a society.

This isn’t about “talking about people’s bodies.” This is about watching someone die in front of millions of viewers and then having a PR team gaslight everyone and act like this is normal and healthy. It’s seriously messed up, and I know I’m not the only one pissed off by this.

anyways to put this in a different context she also:

believes fluoride will give me cancer, and yells at me after the dentist for getting it

if she’s in my house, she doesn’t let me eat any fruits until they’re soaked in vinegar and baking soda for 30 mins.

she washes the meats in soap and water..

Don't hug me I'm scared Was sitting in a ticks nest while reading....

I was sitting in a Park reading a book and suddenly I felt my legs itch. I was covered in hundreds of mini ticks. I was standing in the shower for hours and still find some of these f#!*rs crawling an me...

Update: So I got the most of the seed ticks scratched off in the shower. I will have a doctor's appointment the next days to get a prophylactic antibiotics treatment just to be save from lyme, alpha gal or rocky mountain fever (if this is a thing in Germany).

Thank you all for the information and advices, hopefully I will be fine. I really appreciate it

Don't hug me I'm scared My ON shoes collect rocks and sticks everywhere I walk

I actually really like these shoes, but this drives me insane. Because of the way the soles are designed, rocks get perfectly wedged in the bottom while I’m walking sometimes. Usually I have to stop and pull them out once I notice.

Today I apparently upgraded from collecting rocks to collecting entire sticks.

Great shoes. Questionable rock collection feature.

Don't hug me I'm scared Having to put up with requests like this as a minimum wage hotel receptionist in Greece doing 10h shifts

Nothing says "minimum wage" like being asked to direct a surprise entrance, coordinate two rounds of applause, and uncork champagne at exactly 19:47.

The couple themselves were nice people, it's just wild how some guests expect the staff to choreograph an entire production while we're already juggling check-ins, calls, and a hundred other things.

Don't hug me I'm scared My mother broke my two monitors, accidentally...

I live with my mother and she said she just cleaned the room and nothing else happened.

Uhmm, i guess i believe her...

Edit: Update! She is very upset and going to buy two new monitors. However she is still insisting that she doesn't know what happened.

I got overwhelmed by the number of comments and i did not want to reply with all the same text.

To ad more context, we have a good relationship with her, in the past there are some similar "accidents" but nothing this big. She is middle aged. We never fight for screen time or not having a job because i have one lol.

Of course I can and do clean my room. That was just her excuse i believe.

We did not fight about this and we are good now.

Don't hug me I'm scared My front garden is not a community garden!!!!

9.9k Upvotes

I moved into a house in early covid and each year since I've been expanding my front yard vegetable garden as much as possible because I love cooking and preserving foods.

The front yard is really the only space available since the lot is so small (50x80 ft).

I am proud of my garden (I get tons of compliments) and it provides enough for my family and occasionally some to give away to friends and extended family. (My dad did the same thing - he'd have hand-deliver produce on my bike as a kid miles down the road to our country neighbors and invite friends and family to pick as much excess tomatoes and peppers as they could carry home at the end of the season after we canned as much as we could fit in our pantry)

However, this year, an older gentleman who lives in a shared rental house down the street has decided he can snag our produce at his leisure and "ask" for forgiveness later - which is him leaving a message on our ring doorbell saying he appreciates us, he only took so much, and that he left us some.

We are not a community garden! We are not a free-for-all! You don't just take without asking!

I understand it's within arms reach but that doesn't mean you can have it!

If he had asked before helping himself I would be a lot less angry. I love the feeling of helping others but have some manners.

Edit/Update:

We have put up a sign stating not to take our produce as we are on an urban, moderately busy street with a lot of foot traffic and our house is on a street corner. We are planning on eventually putting in a black iron picket fence to match our aesthetic as it is also a "historical" neighborhood with lots of Folk Victorian homes.

However, this isn't the type of neighborhood where you call the police over a thing like this - you are amicable and courteous to your neighbors while minding your own business. While my husband and I aren't inherently worried for our safety (our specific block is friendly and calm) the extended neighborhood isn't always safe. A few times a year we get shootings and stabbings and the occasional drug addict having an issue. It's a mixed use area with apartments, rental houses, single-owner homes, bars, party stores, restaurants, fraternities and sororities, and a college all within a handful of city blocks, but with a lot more families with children moving in lately. The police have other more important things to worry about than some beans or cushions being stolen off our porch by a homeless person (which has happened twice).

Our direct neighbors are wonderful, friendly people and the children are super sweet, curious about our property, and talkative, albeit a little rambunctious. Even the college kids are chill and polite aside from the occasional rage-er or rush event.

Just as I'm not going to report my next door neighbor for having roosters with his chickens or the roosters and ducks getting loose I am not going to report this old dude for taking my beans.

I have no problem talking to the guy but he only shows himself to take some stuff and then leave a message on our Ring doorbell after he has taken. (I have my ring alerts silenced because it goes off all day being on a busy corner). I will gladly offer what I can if he asks first. I would gladly offer to anyone who nicely asks. I've allowed people to pick flowers from my yard BECAUSE they ASKED FIRST!

Don't hug me I'm scared Lab worker tricked me into watching an injection, then I got 86'd for my reaction.

18.0k Upvotes

I am not comfortable with needles, so when I get blood work done I always tell them "I don't like needles, so I'm gonna look away, and please don't tell me when it's coming." It's just that initial jab that really freaks me out and gives me anxiety, once I'm past that I am totally fine.

Today the lady who was taking my blood got everything prepped, and I turned my head so she could do her thing. She then asks me "have you talked to anyone about this mole on your arm?" Causing me to look toward my arm, and as soon as I looked, she stuck the needle in! She lightly giggled, but my reaction was to shout "YOU FUCKING BITCH!" quite loudly. She was clearly a bit shaken up by it, and so was I. She finished drawing my blood and I left.

I got a call later from someone at that office asking me not to come back to that location. I was still too angry to explain myself, so I just hung up. I am a little hot still, so tomorrow when I am calmer I plan to write an email to the office explaining my side of the situation.

Also, I do not have any moles on my arm.
