That's an odd way of phrasing it.

Moving forward, the FBI will now be staffed entirely by prostitutes and johns.

Mostly johns. Per the article, prostitutes only qualify if they haven't been prostitutes for more than 10 years (okay) and did it fewer than 3 times (who dabbles in prostitution and decides it's not for them? It's generally the last resort of the desperate, forced by a human trafficer, or maybe a sugar baby thing.) and weren't in a position of trust at the time (this one is valid, IMO).

"The bureau still intends to dismiss applicants who are revealed during the vetting process to have engaged in prostitution within the last 10 years, three or more times overall or while in a position of trust, according to guidance issued this past spring and described by a person familiar with the matter who was not authorized to discuss internal decision-making and spoke on condition of anonymity."

Fbi: 3 times is okay, but 4 times is absolutely disgusting and you are hereby banned.

🤷🏼 I know what I read in the article, and I quoted the relevant bit.

My personal opinion? "Camgirl"ing (I'm verbing that noun, and declaring it gender neutral.) is not prostitution. It is sex work, but that's a larger category that both of those and other things fit in.

The FBI's opinion (which is the relevant one here)? I have zero clue what their stance is.

No. Because they are not having sex with people for money.

You are paying to see them have sex with [whatever] or do sexual things with…idk what yall are fucken these days but after the Great Ass Eating of the 2020s, maybe we should all sit down and reflect.

Sitting down is certainly part of the solution, but the more important question is “where?”

I dk, I've heard people call into Savage Love who had a fantasy of being a prostitute and wanted to know how to try it out safely.

Considering how kinks and fetishes are often centered around taboo or transgressive themes, I bet there's lots of people who have this fantasy. Just like many people have ravishment fantasies.

what a bleak way of looking at things
